I guess it's just always strange to me when people view HLS as some sort of holy grail.

Does it surprise you when people view T14 as the holy grail, yet others view law school as the holy grail, yet some others view grad school as the holy grail, yet others ...

you get my point.

Asked a question a few pages back, but it might have gotten lost in the flurry of WL posts so I'm posting it again in the hope of some insight. I applied late December and have yet to hear anything back from Harvard (not even a hold). The email I was sent to confirm that my application was complete indicated that I should receive some kind of notification in about two months. It has been almost four months with no word. I tried to call Harvard, but no one is picking up over there. I have seat deposit deadlines late next week and early the week after so I'm anxious for some word from HLS. Any idea what might be going on?

I didn't hear back until mid May last year, after the WL and ding waves. Sometimes it just takes them longer for whatever reason. I'd wait until next Wed/Thur then call them.

Been in class for the last few hours, so this is a bit late, but also WL'ed.

First round decisions finally done after over 6 months....

Now to wait 4 or 5 more months. :P

I'll almost certainly be withdrawing in the next week or so; I just really want to be sure before I tell Harvard no--it feels like an absurd thing to do. But hey, likely one more spot for you folks (although maybe not, since in the process, I will deny some YLS waitlister a spot at Yale, and s/he likely just takes my spot at HLS :?)

And they say that HLS students are self-centered and lack empathy.

This.

I mean, c'mon guys. We can't just expect to skate into a safety like Harvard with our formidable numbers without a really compelling Why H? essay and probably some convincing ties to the regional area.
