I agree. Every school I have been accepted to has a different deposit deadline. I didn't realize until recently how much the varying timelines for scholarships, ASW, and deposit deadlines forced you towards making a snap decision.jjcorvino wrote:
I know that I am probably barking up the wrong tree, but law school admissions should be more standardized. There should be a LSAC deadline for rendering a decision and then all deposit deadlines should be a month after that first decision deadline (giving students adequate time to weight their options). Of course this will never happen, because schools use deadlines to push students into depositing without all the information they need (like scholarships) for their own profits.

I would think that waiting can only hurt their matriculation rates because people they offer admission to may have already made different plans without withdrawing.

I agree with this 1000%. There really needs to be some standardization and transparency in the process.

Wonder if the date changers will hear back today?
At this point it does seem like we're all heading for the WL, so it would be nice to just hear back already. Obviously we can't know what is going on behind the scenes, but if they do have decisions I'm not sure what they're waiting for.

All I gotta say is: I'm rooting for all of you!! I love NYU and will be attending in the fall, but I also hate how they're treating so many waiters
Crossing my fingers you all get in and can be my classmates in a few months!!

I'm still here trying to find out what happens to all my friends. Anyone hear anything yet????
FWIW, I talked to a friend of mine who went to NYU UG when I withdrew and all they said was "yeahhh....NYU isn't the greatest with responding quickly" which I think is basically the understatement of the century.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE. I'm rooting for you all.

Yeah, and I'm tired of the bootlicking on the part of 0l's towards admissions office. This endless wait is either a product of unabashed arrogance (certainly on the part of schools like Yale) or a pathetic effort to gin up yields. I was waiting on five of the T6 through the end of March (including NYU) with stats that made me auto-admit at lower T6's and likelyish at T3 despite applying early in the fall. I'm still waiting on two schools. There needs to be some reform of the system.jessmeesh wrote:jjcorvino wrote:April 11th and seems like a ton of people have no decisions yet. Do you think they just want us to withdraw so that they don't have to worry about us anymore? I am really trying to find an excuse for this deafening silence.
Ur2 01/05. I mean my GOD, inauguration hadn't even happened by then. Look how much damage has been done since 01/05. All of Trump's shit and NYU hasn't so much as looked in the direction of my dusty file!

Just went DLS. UR3 on 3/30. Not to further add to everyone's anxiety but I mean it when I say "just". When the earlier poster said he or she was DLS I was still under review. Maybe more updates to come?

Longtime lurker but I just went dls and despite being a Tuesday, are we sure that this is good news? At this point any decision would at least beat this endless waiting but can anyone confirm this is an admit wave and not a waitlist or something?

I am so confused. DSL = Decision Letter Sent. To where? Not to my email for sure...How long it takes to get the DSL email? This is so stressful

This. Also, you can try to log in to the Admitted Students Website (username is your LSAC number I think and password is your bday), but it sometimes takes a while even if you ARE truly admitted.Leliana wrote:I never got an email speciifcally about admission, just a phone call and then the packet in the mail later.TudoBem wrote:I am so confused.
