I hated my gym at undergrad because it was always really crowded and full of football players actin out etc, especially the free weights area. Similar vibe at the washu gym or nah? anyone have a membership to another gym near the school for some reason?/have any recommendations?
tyia
The gym at school is shit, but they're building a brand new athletic center, which would be done after your 1L year iirc.
shit like, bare bones (which may be fine) or shit like only athletes use/shitty hours/always crowded/dirty (less fine)? exciting about the athletic center though :) although in my experience that deadline will probably mean it will actually open in like spring of my 3L lol
WUSTL builds a lot of shit and they build it quickly, so I wouldn't worry. Definitely bare bones, but also just too small for the size of the student population.
so helpful! thanks!

I withdrew, but I still get really sweet emails from admission officers at WUSTL. Sometimes I feel like I've made the worst decision. They should stop sending me emails--I feel so sad every time I get them. I love this school; I really wish I was coming here.

KMart, that's a rhetorical question, right?

Also, I'm going to stop posting here. So sorry to pop into this space.

:( Sad to see you go Laws, but of course it is a rhetorical question. You still made a great decision for you - you're welcome here anyway from my perspective.

Laws have you thought about emailing/asking them to ignore your withdrawal? Didn't someone on this board do something like that?

When did you apply? I sent mine in on like the last week of April and got a response on the 7th or so of this month.

theyre definitly the most "personal" admissions office and actually try to be your friend.
on my interview i was asked about some of my hobbies.
I said I love indie music and festivals and my interviewer intermittently sends me info about music stuff in stl.

truly classy and i hope their strategy ends up working for them and they rise in the rankings

Definitely agree! The whole team is incredibly friendly and responsive in my experience.
Nice tar, by the way (I really like the song Polish Girl)

Awesome! I'm glad there's some indie fans in our class! Neon Indian, atlas sound, and deer hunter are all great! I'm hoping STL gets some pretty good indie bands in town now and then.

I guess I never officially withdrew from WUSTL (but did not deposit), and got an email today asking if I'm still interested and letting me know additional scholarship or stipend might be available if I am. Anyone else get something like this?

Was that your verification of your intent email, shit or get off the pot? Did they give you a deadline to respond?

Verification of intent? I didn't deposit.

I asked for more details and they said they'd get back to me, so I'm not quite sure of a deadline yet.

Wow. Even the checking up on you email didn't give you a deadline?

This is so ridiculous. They gave me so much crap about meeting a certain deadline and were stingy in scholarship negotiations. BS. Means they still have money and spots.

Anyone know if fairmont/monticello is decent enough? I'm obviously not looking for luxury and the price is right, which makes me think there might be something wrong with these places.

I lived in a studio in the monticello for a year and it was fine! the apartment was pretty old and there was no dishwasher in my studio, but I would live there again. you can message me if you want more details
