Opened the decision PDF and received admission and 50,000/yr scholarship contingent on a one-year deferral! I am completely blown away since I'm still in undergrad and applied on a whim with the fee waiver. Northwestern definitely just moved way up my list!

Hmm... surprised not to have received an email since I have the "your decision will be made in 6-8 weeks from December 1" msg on my status checker, and it's been 8 weeks. Maybe the emails are just taking a while to go out because of volume?

As someone who's job it was to send out thousands of mass emails for a non-profit, I can confirm that it does take a while depending on their e-mail provider. If they use netForum, it takes about 10 minutes per thousand emails. Other services take a little longer, others are shorter. But unless they are doing like 5000 at once, there's no reason it should take longer than 30 minutes tops.
