does WL have any chance of admission? I think I'm doomed for WL from all schools (and a couple accepts and rejects in the mix), sigh...

I envision you in shorts and flip flops, windows open in the sun, as we sit here in frigid, dark, cold on the east coast...Knock wrote:Time for my 4pm sandwich and wait for the mailman.

Similar numbers to me, I figure we're about a 50/50 shot.akikaze wrote:Thanks boys =]ahduth wrote:Then it says, "Decision letter sent."r6_philly wrote:No, "complete" until you graduate.akikaze wrote:Our Columbia status checker will not say anything other than "Complete" when a decision has been reached, will it?
I'm 171/3.8X from Berkeley and feel like I'm a pretty borderline candidate based on some of the crazy stats I've been seeing here. (Also have good softs, but they hardly matter from what I'm hearing...)

Have people still been filling out that spreadsheet? Are the indices matching last year's trends?Knock wrote:Similar numbers to me, I figure we're about a 50/50 shot.

Congrats Tgir! Awesome cycle so far, where are you leaning?akikaze wrote:Congrats =]tgir wrote:Butler-flavored vomit in Boston! Yummeh.
Yes, fill out the spreadsheet. And so far, it appears that many more borderline applicants have heard back in the first wave proportionally compared to higher index applicants.ahduth wrote:Have people still been filling out that spreadsheet? Uh-oh; I went complete in early January.Knock wrote:Yes, fill out the spreadsheet. I didn't study the spreadsheet much, but it looked that way to me, too...Knock wrote:Yes, fill out the spreadsheet. And so far, it appears that many more borderline applicants have heard back in the first wave proportionally compared to higher index applicants.
Thanks, Knock! Still leaning towards Stanford, I think. A Hamilton would have been very hard to turn down; a Butler, while awesome, is probably not enough to pull me away from sunny California.Knock wrote:Congrats Tgir! :'( as a borderline applicant, this does not bode well for me.. but no matter how many times I tell myself this, some part of me will secretly be holding out hope that I got mixed up in the scholarship pile.. at least until the WL notice comes.Knock wrote:Yes, fill out the spreadsheet. I don't think you're a borderline applicant at all -- I would be pretty optimistic if I were you.arism87 wrote::'( as a borderline applicant, this does not bode well for me.. but no matter how many times I tell myself this, some part of me will secretly be holding out hope that I got mixed up in the scholarship pile.. at least until the WL notice comes.Knock wrote:Yes, fill out the spreadsheet. Much thanks to you both! I know I'm above both medians, but according to LSN last year my odds would've been only slightly better than 50/50.tgir wrote:+1akikaze wrote:I don't think you're a borderline applicant at all -- I would be pretty optimistic if I were you.arism87 wrote:

A thing about LSN: it strikes me as a self-selecting pool for people who have the stats and (frankly) little else. At Columbia, the median LSAT is 172 and yet that means that 50% of people have that or below, with 25% at 170 or below. And I just don't see enough green dots to think that we're getting the whole story. People who have excellent softs, etc. don't seem to post on there.arism87 wrote:Much thanks to you both! With the TFA experience, a solid GPA (ideally from a reputable univ.), and a 172, I would say that you're definitely under consideration at Harvard.
What are you basing this bullshit on? You win stupid post of the week.akikaze wrote:
