PMT- meant a lot that you had such great things to say about the teachers and classes, despite having such a difficult year overall. wish nothing but the best wherever you end up next year!

Thank you so much to all the current students that responded, sorry to any fellow 0Ls if I derailed to an unpleasant place. Such honest feedback was very helpful and as a result I am much more confident in the decision I made to commit to Wash U
Excited to meet everyone in the fall!!

Just got another scholarship increase in the amount I requested, and am officially committed to Wash U Law! Very excited for the fall!!!
Thanks to everyone here (both current students and applicants) for being awesome, and I hope to meet some of you in a few months!
ETA: I'm probably changing my username in the next few days to something more memorable, now that I'm not as concerned with maintaining anonymity, but I'll still be here!

Re: WUSTL c/o 2018 Applicants
After the second deposit you get a bumper sticker from WashU. The shirt was underwhelming, but I like the bumper sticker.
I just read that ADHD thread: wow. The thing that got me was the NDA for a study group. I got stuck in a loop of chuckling followed by "really?" followed by chuckling. I've never heard of anyone doing that before so I'm kind of impressed by an original idea, but I'm even more impressed by how such a shitty idea made it through the entire group. Someone said "we need an NDA so all of the super duper important information--which is the natural, self-evident result of our combined genius--doesn't get out"? And then the rest of the group nodded and said "totally"?
Hopefully that kind of stuff doesn't happen with our year, but I looooove the story as an anecdote.

The NDA was definitely crazy, but there are some very very good outlines/materials that would help you and it would be in your interest to not let those things get out.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2018 Applicants
Somehow I have gotten three bumper stickers so far (two in the mail, one at open house). Not sure if I'm going to use any because at graduation I got an alumni license plate holder, forgetting that I already had a Wash U sticker on my car. Way too school spirity.TetrisBlock wrote:After the second deposit you get a bumper sticker from WashU. The shirt was underwhelming, but I like the bumper sticker.

Interesting...working on my NDA now.scottidsntknow wrote:The NDA was definitely crazy, but there are some very very good outlines/materials that would help you and it would be in your interest to not let those things get out.
Congrats! and you should definitely change your name, I had no idea you had so many posts. I literally thought there were just a bunch of people with random numbers/no avatar that posted on TLS. I probably should look at usernames a little more closely.6778628 wrote:Just got another scholarship increase in the amount I requested, and am officially committed to Wash U Law! Yeah I had my two super section classes with the NDA guys this semester. They are just as charming as you would think people who would write an NDA for a study group would be.

I mean, the NDA is nothing compared to the fake outline they made for LRM.LET'S GET IT wrote:Yeah I had my two super section classes with the NDA guys this semester. They are just as charming as you would think people who would write an NDA for a study group would be.

That's fair. At some point I think they realized how awful they were and just ran with it.scottidsntknow wrote:I mean, the NDA is nothing compared to the fake outline they made for LRM.LET'S GET IT wrote:Yeah I had my two super section classes with the NDA guys this semester. You know the fake outline for LRM might not actually be a fake outline. I think they just did a poor job of outlining.

@Laws: still considering it. Retaking the June LSAT to see how that changes things.
Anyone else doing the June LSAT?

Since you're coming to Wash U, you should do something school themed...might I suggest "BigBear4U"?6778628 wrote:Yeah that was totally intentional haha. Added an avatar, just gotta figure out a username now!

In college, different student groups would hand out free shirts and similar items. Will those opportunities be around at law school?scottidsntknow wrote:Pffffff I didn't do write on honey.peachesthedoge wrote:now that you've finished your semester & writeon (!!!)... new poll, scotty?

Re: housing...any thoughts on the area south of Hwy 40/64, but north of Manchester Ave? Would this be considered part of the Grove? I've lived in big cities before so fairly comfortable with the gray area that is "up and coming" which is the vibe I get for this area, but could be misreading that. Thanks!

Are you talking about along Big Bend? If so it is a pretty nice area. As you get closer to S. Hanley it gets a bit less neighborhood and more suburbish from what I have seen. I take Big Bend to school and it is a very easy commute.golden44 wrote:Re: housing...any thoughts on the area south of Hwy 40/64, but north of Manchester Ave? Yeah it sounds like you are talking about the Maplewood/Brentwood area. It's nice. I guess you could be talking about the grove, but that is farther east. If you are talking directly south of campus past 64, it's Maplewood. A know a couple law students who live there.futago wrote:Are you talking about along Big Bend? If so it is a pretty nice area.
