DLS for me, too, after 200+ days! Finally I can stop waiting. I think I'll call when I get off work, but I'm expecting a ding.NapoleonXV wrote:dls after 222 bloody days! feel excited actually

I never thought I would be hoping for the day when it would say DLS.lastsamurai wrote:lol "your file has been submitted for review"

My status checking has evolved a lot from the start. When DLS first started trickling out, I would be so nervous checking, desperately hoping to hold out long enough for a phone call. As we drew closer and closer to Admitted Students Weekend, I started being less nervous and more accepting of the fact that I'm probably going to snag a WL. As the days went on, I prayed that I'd get a DLS, just so that I could stop checking my status checker all the goddamn time. As we got into late April and beyond Easter, the hopefulness turned into apathy. Like who gives a shit anyway, Stanford, it's almost May for God's sake. Now I'm actually happy when I see that I'm still submitted for review. I find the absurdity of it all quite humorous, like the longer it takes to get a DLS, the funnier it becomes. So I'm back where I starting - I log on and hope that I'm still under the safety of being reviewed. It's all come full circle.

do you guys think anything will happen today? i can't decide if this is a "no news is good news" type ordeal or "they forgot about you lol rejection will occur once they realize the stack of people they forgot about"

In other news, my status checker seems to have corrected the "If you have any questions" glitch

I'll trade anyone ITT my Stanford "your application is currently under review" for their Yale acceptance. Any takers?

Will Stanford admit anyone outright at this point? Or is it all wait-lists and rejections from here? (Also, do you have evidence for this? Or is it just a guess?) Went UR on 1/22.

From what I've heard (KoalaCity is the Researcher in Chief here), there are no outright admits, based on past cycles.ianfaircloud wrote:Will Stanford admit anyone outright at this point? But Stanford DID admit someone last week, and this bucks the trend, so it's not totally clear.

We do not know, but if they do admit it will likely be very fewianfaircloud wrote:Will Stanford admit anyone outright at this point? Or is it all wait-lists and rejections from here? (Also, do you have evidence for this? Or is it just a guess?) Went UR on 1/22.

But yeah, the admit last week was unprecedented (at least in the last two cycles)-I think Stanford did things a little differently this year, possibly in an attempt to boost yield*.
*my only basis for this is baseless speculation.

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
All of the Yale admits getting WL is probably YP, my reason is the following:
1) SLS increased their LSAT median for the first time in like centuries, probably trying to climb rankings, resulted in #3 instead, so they need to improve other factors this time around probably to increase their ranking. Remembering increasing yield/making less offers/more waitlist increases yield and decreases acceptance rate, so is a 2 fronted attack for rankings
2) All of the highly qualified/later WL probably withdrew immediately, as they waited for a decision from Stanford to close out their cycle. Why would anyone/school in this situation give out any straight acceptances, it seems like a risk, might as well WL everyone.
3) I suspect the people who are accepted this late straight are those who have strong cali ties/visited stanford/wrote a very convincing LOCI/tailored their PS to stanford.
All of this of course is baseless speculation.
Edit:
Stanford, if you read this and figured out who I am, please take me.
Ill drop all my other schools instantly, serious, pinky promise.
