Not going to bother quoting the questions, but here are some answers:
Yes, Johann is the Dean of Admissions. Everyone except the main Dean is an Assistant Dean. Like VPs of whatever.
Classes start September 3rd, and the week before will be (mandatory) Orientation.

Yeah, I'm intending to let them know. Gonna mull over the decision, but once I know I'll let them know either way.Clearlynotstefan wrote:Sorry to hear, I got WLed too. Better than a rejection, but in all actuality I won't be waiting around. Oh well. It was worth a shot.

According to Wikipedia, 95% of the entering class has at least one year of full-time work experience. How on earth can that be true? They don't let in anyone who's still in undergrad?

It's down to about 90% in this year's 1L class, but how do you not know this? They brag about it on the website and in the viewbook.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:According to Wikipedia, 95% of the entering class has at least one year of full-time work experience. I have three years full-time WE and I'm in UG. I'll guarantee they're going to count my WE in their statistic.

Same here! But the three jobs (two of which are pretty legit) during undergrad probably helped with the whole maturity angle.TripTrip wrote:You're right, I didn't actually read the "post-grad" part.BigZuck wrote:If its not full time post-grad work experience then it's not full time post-grad work experienceTripTrip wrote: I think they're counting WE during UG.

I'm not familiar with military work but the phrase has "post-grad" in it. Not much you can do to play with that.mrizza wrote:I'm pretty sure they count military WE pre-gradTripTrip wrote:You're right, I didn't actually read the "post-grad" part am the 10%.BigZuck wrote:If its not full time post-grad work experience then it's not full time post-grad work experienceTripTrip wrote: I think they're counting WE during UG.

AFAIK military service, pre- OR post-grad, is a good soft to have for NU. And +1 to what scarlet said. I'm sure we all can remember how confusing and slightly scary the admissions process is!

Dude, as I've already mentioned today, NU is the 3rd best school for San Fran big law behind Stanford then Berkeley. Go to mylsn personalized ranking, make everything 100+ attorney firms and San Fran location, and try it. Depending in changing the numbers around it may change, but NU is generally way up there.
Forgive me, but I've fished around Mylsn for a bit and I can't seem to figure out how you're generating this statistic. I only see a "proximity to state" category (which seems to refer to how physically close the school is to the selected state). Where's the "SF Biglaw" category? Can you link it? Is it this site?
http://www.mylsn.info/
Not by a comp right now, it might have been all of Cali not just SF.
The "statistic" generated by mylsn doesn't say what you think it says. "proximity to CA" doesn't refer to the location of employment obtained by grads. Instead, it refers to the geographical location of the school . It is rating how physically close the school is to CA, not how many Northwestern grads are landing jobs in/near CA.
T14 Schools closest to CA:
1. Berkeley (in CA)
1. Stanford (in CA)
3. Northwestern (in IL)

I'm sure the answer to my question is somewhere within this thread, but I did use the search function and didn't see as much as I suspect has been discussed here...Is anyone able to enlighten me on what they've heard about NU's responsiveness to scholarship negotiation? First, is it recommended if you are not satisfied with you award? And second, do they like you to just write an email, or actually attach PDFs of other scholarship offers? (Anything you may have heard about this at an ASW would be appreciated, as I can't attend). Finally, anyone know the email address this type of correspondence should be sent to? Thanks!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
