Yes, Johann is the Dean of Admissions. Everyone except the main Dean is an Assistant Dean. Like VPs of whatever.

Classes start September 3rd, and the week before will be (mandatory) Orientation.

Waitlist for me, which I fully expected. Better than a rejection, but in all actuality I won't be waiting around. Oh well. It was worth a shot.

According to Wikipedia, 95% of the entering class has at least one year of full-time work experience. How on earth can that be true? They don't let in anyone who's still in undergrad?

It's down to about 90% in this year's 1L class, but how do you not know this? They brag about it on the website and in the viewbook.

from the few others that i've talked to, there are just a handful of us. i think having work experience/internship during your ug helps

I think they're counting WE during UG.

I have three years full-time WE and I'm in UG. I'll guarantee they're going to count my WE in their statistic.

Same here! But the three jobs (two of which are pretty legit) during undergrad probably helped with the whole maturity angle.
But I'm also a bit afraid of being a youngin'

I'm not familiar with military work but the phrase has "post-grad" in it. Not much you can do to play with that.

AFAIK military service, pre- OR post-grad, is a good soft to have for NU. And +1 to what scarlet said. I'm sure we all can remember how confusing and slightly scary the admissions process is!

Dude, as I've already mentioned today, NU is the 3rd best school for San Fran big law behind Stanford then Berkeley. Go to mylsn personalized ranking, make everything 100+ attorney firms and San Fran location, and try it. Depending in changing the numbers around it may change, but NU is generally way up there.


Forgive me, but I've fished around Mylsn for a bit and I can't seem to figure out how you're generating this statistic. I only see a "proximity to state" category (which seems to refer to how physically close the school is to the selected state). Where's the "SF Biglaw" category? Can you link it? Is it this site?

I'm sure the answer to my question is somewhere within this thread, but I did use the search function and didn't see as much as I suspect has been discussed here...Is anyone able to enlighten me on what they've heard about NU's responsiveness to scholarship negotiation? First, is it recommended if you are not satisfied with you award? And second, do they like you to just write an email, or actually attach PDFs of other scholarship offers? (Anything you may have heard about this at an ASW would be appreciated, as I can't attend). Finally, anyone know the email address this type of correspondence should be sent to? Thanks!
