I got a Dean's Scholarship today!
$15K/year. Surprised I got anything at all really. Makes the Penn ding sting a hell of a lot less.
I was accepted on 1/9 in case anyone was curious/waiting for theirs, and this was apparently awarded on 1/23.

To be honest, I didn't check for a few weeks after it had been complete, but I did notice since that every day I've checked, it has been updated.JoeMo wrote:Notice how much nicer everyone is about this question now. Does this really mean that they are looking at our application every day?

I am getting a little stressed, wondering if anyone has thoughts on my prospects. I submitted right before thanksgiving, above 75th GPA, point above LSAT median but no word. Am I hosed yet?

I feel the same. Statistically, it looks really positive, but since Mich can be a bit of a numbers-wildcard, you never really know. You may want to write an email to Dean Z just to show how badly you want to go there. They really care about accepting people that really want to attend.Mal Reynolds wrote:I am getting a little stressed, wondering if anyone has thoughts on my prospects. What's teh concensus on writing a LOCI if you have not been rejected yet, but am banking on the holistic aspect of Michigan. Low numbers, nothing really special to add, but to elaborate on the recent job at a law firm I had just started when I sent in the app?

Yeah I might just do this. It's a little frustrating not having heard yet but Michigan is cool enough to warrant a little extra effort. I don't want to say I was feeling cocky, but I think trolling TLS and LSN for so long gave me the impression I did everything I needed to do.JamMasterJ wrote:I feel the same. So I received the email, and there's been no update since. Anyone else in the same boat? Do you think this means waitlist/rejection, or could they still be re-reveiwing these files for acceptances? (Wanting to stay hopeful, but the "complete" message every single day is getting to me).

I'm sure they're still deciding. We're getting pretty close to the deadline for apps, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a lull in action soon until the apps start coming in and all schools get a better overall idea of the applicant pool.

Wait till you hear from them.
Your application speaks for itself unless you have something very important to add.
Everyone still waiting is nervous and scrambling.
Let the cycle take it's course. You may or may not have to provide a LOCI.
Good luck!!!

Sorry if this has been discussed earlier in the thread but I peruse this thread with some regularity and haven't come across an answer yet. For those who already got scholarship info, did you fill out the financial aid application on ASW before you found out about it? Or did it just show up without you doing anything a couple weeks after your acceptance? I was accepted in November, but it still says zero awards found...so I'm assuming I'll be paying sticker. Just thought I would ask though. Again, apologies if this has been asked already.

Re: Michigan c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
They just show up about two weeks after acceptance and I think Michigan says they'll reach a decision on scholarships in a maximum of 6 weeks. Unfortunately, since you were accepted in November it doesn't look like they plan to offer you a merit scholarship. I believe you can still try to negotiate for money if you have competitive offers from other schools, and you may get need based aid once you've filled out the financial aid application. Hope this helps.BuckinghamB wrote:Sorry if this has been discussed earlier in the thread but I peruse this thread with some regularity and haven't come across an answer yet.
