Yes I just got an invite to their ASW. It came with a little mini-map of NYC. I <3 it!!!arism87 wrote:Has anyone gotten mail from NYU OTHER than the purple envelope or pizza box? All maps are certainly appreciated. NYC, ugh.

It's a small island. Just drive straight whenever you get lost. Nuff said.arism87 wrote:Thanks!!law_monkey wrote:Yes I just got an invite to their ASW. It came with a little mini-map of NYC. Anyone holding out hope in the mail being slow? I still haven't seen anyone get a VCE in the southeast...

The mail is VERY slow. And starting tomorrow at 6 am yet another ridiculous ice and snow storm will descend on NYC so I'd say that's a legitimate hope.dabbadon8 wrote:Anyone holding out hope in the mail being slow? I still haven't seen anyone get a VCE in the southeast...

Re: NYU 2011
People say that, but I can't even figure out the subway system. I took a bus up there to visit a friend and tried to take the subway the rest of the way to his house. Could NOT read the damn map. I'm sitting here thinking, I'm an educated person, if I can't read this map.. who is it made for? So I call my friend, a native New Yorker, and he couldn't figure it out either!bistduverrueckt wrote:Aww it's not *that* hard to navigate. I believe a small card with an invite to an ASW was sent recently to those admitted to NYU.

Re: NYU 2011
I highly doubt that I'm getting any kind of VCE in this batch, but I keep hoping it's actually coming and it's just super slow because of the weather. Of course, Michigan is supposed to get something like 17 inches of snow tomorrow. UGH. Jack Frost is conspiring to ensure that I never get my mail. Yeah, it sounds pretty cool in theory, I'm resigned to not getting one though...gatorgirl4life wrote:i haven't received anything since the purple envelope. when did they send out the pizza boxes and maps? sounds exciting haha

We're not going to get mail for the next week in Chicago. All the mail is going to be lost, it's just the way of things.

Applied this afternoon, around 7pm. I'd like to think I'll be the last applicant and when they get to me, they'll be so glad to be finished that they'll overlook my sub 25th % gpa.

What it seems they won't overlook is multiple LSATs that end up averaging to lower than 170 =( good luck!suspicious android wrote:Applied this afternoon, around 7pm. For those who may have applied in January, I went from 1/10 Processing to 1/30 Under Review. Preparing to be under review for awhile...

I'm still stuck at 1/6 processing... do you think I should call and check to make sure everything is OK?BBeauty wrote:For those who may have applied in January, I went from 1/10 Processing to 1/30 Under Review. Preparing to be under review for awhile...

Yes I would probably give them a call. I applied on 1/7 and they review them in the order that they are complete. I figure it couldnt hurt to call.chasgoose wrote:badgers22 wrote:Applied 1/10 --> UR 1/19 --> Decision Letter Sent 1/31

Anyone know of any ED deferrals who have gotten acceptance/WL/ding yet? Or even a status update?

Just called and got the standard lots of applications this sometimes takes a few weeks response. Didn't really want to press the issue, those poor people at NYU are going to have a bad enough day with the application deadline and the weather...BBeauty wrote:Yes I would probably give them a call.
