Committed to UCLA last night. Not sure if I should wait it out to see what happens at NYU or just withdraw before getting a decision

Pretty sure all of us waiting would like you to withdraw to make room for someone who isn't committed elsewhere.

Well I sympathize (read: agree 100%) with Jess here, but I will ask to give you the benefit of the doubt - would you really attend NYU, at sticker, if they took you off of the waitlist? Do you feel it will be as good if not better a fit for you than UCLA?

if so, well, you might as well wait it out for a decision and work from there (assuming they WL and don't ding you).

I took committed to mean that there is no longer an option to attended NYU if admitted. If he could still attend, then yeah, ride it out if you think it's likely you would attend. If you're just collecting acceptances for the heck of it (I know a few people doing this) then withdraw for the sake of the rest of us.

I put down a first deposit. So in theory I can still eat my deposit and attend NYU still. I haven't decided if I'd attend at sticker; I'm trying to figure that out by the end of this week

Ah ok. I personally don't consider putting down a deposit committing unless the deposit was binding. So yeah, if NYU is still an option for you, then hang out.

Thanks! I'm about ready to deposit. Idk if I can hold out another week but I want NYU and closure and to stay close to the city so I feel so stuck.

I got the "still reviewing" email in February, so...did they pull my app into the review pile, decide they'd rather not, and then put it back on the shelves?

I'm stuck in UR2 since January. I have no idea what's happening... I mean probably another WL. I wonder if NYU will be #11 or #12.
