I submitted my application around January 30th, and it went complete Feb 26th. I got my JS1 email this morning.morningstar wrote:Anybody who went complete in (late) Feb get one yet?

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I notice that there are usually 15 interview slots every day, from 10 to 12 and 1 to 4, with each spanning 20 mins. So if this holds and they dedicate the whole day to interviews, I'm proposing rounding up to the next multiple of 15.HorseThief wrote:Sneaky devils. I checked last night and there were no openings, so they must have thrown them up this morning. I'm still seeing 45 open slots, although I'm sure there were more.

This gives 750 slots. Given that the weekly capacity is 75, I assume they have given out 800+ so far. I recall someone ITT said 30% of the class were admitted off the waitlist, so that's about 150~200? Looks like this is indeed the second last if not the last JS1 wave? Any thoughts on this?

I'm quite positive that the earlier slots were not at full capacity, so I wouldn't estimate quite so high. However, given the shortening window, I'd agree that we're in the final waves.blueberrysmoothie wrote:

yeah I'd say 800+ seems reasonable. although, there are js1->wl->js2 people as well as wl->js1->js2. many of those accepted off the wl might have already had a js1, so not sure if the 150-200 number is correct.blueberrysmoothie wrote:I notice that there are usually 15 interview slots every day, from 10 to 12 and 1 to 4, with each spanning 20 mins. No word since. Anyone else with a similar timeline, esp. JS1 invite 1/08, not heard a peep since interview? Care to enlighten me that I am not alone, friends?
ETA: Real question here is still chance for JS2 before waitlist or more likely WL?

There's only been two JS2 waves since your JS1; 1/20 which you in no way could've qualified for, and I think the Feb 2-4 wave might have (probably) missed your complete/JS1 date by a bit.hayagreeva wrote:So, question for those waiting / referendum for speculation.

There's a lot of us in the same position (mid-Jan to mid-Feb JS1s). Very tough to imagine we won't see big JS2 movement this week. Probably Tuesday, almost certainly by Friday.hayagreeva wrote:So, question for those waiting / referendum for speculation.

That said, last year a big JS2 wave went out on the Sunday of the cycle's first HLS ASW, which was extremely unusual. Tomorrow's the Sunday of this cycle's first HLS ASW. Highly unlikely but not impossible that the same could happen again this year.

Very very surprised to get a JS1 yesterday. Submitted right around Christmas - don't remember the exact date. I tried scrolling through this massive thread looking for interview tips, but it is a massive undertaking. Any ideas for good questions to have on deck for the interviewer? And when asked "Why Harvard", what did you say?

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
For all the new JS1s, (congrats!), here is the list of questions from earlier in the thread. I got some of these, but time for JS1s is short, so you won't get them all, obviously.
ETA: YMMV as far as what they ask. My interviewer was very familiar with my application, so the questions were tailored to me.What questions do you have for me?
Why do you want to go to law school?
Why do you want to go to Harvard in particular?
What is the most interesting or meaningful experience you had during undergrad?
Why law school immediately before other experience?
What area/courses/professors are you interested in?
Why did you choose to study [your majors]?
What have you gained through working [all the stuff you've worked on]?
What have you gained through [other activities]?
What have you gained from your [extra-curricular endeavours]?
Have any of those experiences informed your decision to go to law?
What do you think would be your greatest challenge at Harvard?
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
What do you envision a successful career for yourself would look like?
Anything you were hoping I’d ask? Anything not in your app?
When have you been in an awkward/challenging position and resolved it?
How will you add to diversity (reference to statement)?
What cultural identity or culture do you identify with more?
What is the most difficult decision you have had to make?
Anything you would go back in time and change?
Why [your current university]?
Talk about your resume?
What would you ask a candidate if you were the interviewer?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I remember people who interviewed 1/8 get acceptances in the feb wave. either way though, that's only one wave maximum. there still should be plenty of opportunity before waitlist becomes a realityaltf4 wrote:There's only been two JS2 waves since your JS1; 1/20 which you in no way could've qualified for, and I think the Feb 2-4 wave might have (probably) missed your complete/JS1 date by a bit.hayagreeva wrote:So, question for those waiting / referendum for speculation.

Dear all, luckily got a JS1 invite this week. I am an international applicant with a Superior rating and a 99.9 percentile LSAT. Now I am worried to screw up the interview since I am a non-native speaker with far-from-perfect English. Any idea what behaviors/answers during the interview will likely lead to a rejection?
Thanks in advance for any response!
