Don't let my username fool you--I'm not bound to BYU Law, haha. They did offer me a full ride, but we'll see how the rest of my cycle goes.ManOfTheMinute wrote:You're not gonna go to BYU?PRgradBYU wrote:JS1 scheduled. Definitely an unexpected turn of events, considering my numbers! I'm going to have to absolutely CRUSH this interview to even stand a chance.
Haha man, you don't get an interview if they didn't see something they liked...
At any rate, thanks for the positive words!

I wonder what the yield on JS1s in the last couple months. Seemed like pre-new year, most people got JS2s and post-new year it's been a lot less automatic. As someone with a JS1 a couple weeks ago, the idea of those odds being in the 40-50% range is terrifying.az21833 wrote:all these post js1 holds have me terrified. i think js1 yield is giong to be much lower this year.

Well, eff.
JS1 in late Jan ---> held today. I knew my interview wasn't my best ever but didn't think it was THAT bad. Best of luck to everybody waiting.

this. if you take out the early auto admits, its looking more like 50-60% than 80%, anecdotally.zidane13 wrote:I wonder what the yield on JS1s in the last couple months. There are 92 admits on LSN... people usually say LSN is 10% of all applicants, but that feels small for people applying to schools like HLS. I'm not sure what to make of it and what that means for recent JS1s in terms of admissions/how many spots are available.

I've been complete since 12/19 with no hold/ding email. Are there any other people with similar or earlier complete dates that haven't heard anything back?

Regulus, sheet says LSN represent 15-20% of applicants, so that's 620 out of the 850 total acceptances (73%) that have already happened. So 27% left for us, yayyycarboncopyx wrote:There are 92 admits on LSN... people usually say LSN is 10% of all applicants, but that feels small for people applying to schools like HLS. Last year there were 134 admits on LSN out of 850 total, so approximately 15% of the total admit pool was represented.carboncopyx wrote:There are 92 admits on LSN... people usually say LSN is 10% of all applicants, but that feels small for people applying to schools like HLS. the 2016 facebook group has just under 300 members. the 2015 group had about 525 members. by that measure, we're more than halfway through the cycle.ManOfTheMinute wrote:Regulus, sheet says LSN represent 15-20% of applicants, so that's 620 out of the 850 total acceptances (73%) that have already happened. And there are probably people who have been admitted but have not joined the group yet.Wormfather wrote:Some of the people in that FB group will get called away to Yale, lured my Hammies, go to ASW in March and Stanford's in April and decide that New England winters arent their cup of tea.
