I heard also that a few spots still remain pre-WL.
Give me her number and I will call her up directly and let her know who I am. Also, who is this we?
I am assuming this came from someone at ASW, but was it originally from Dean Deal herself?

I don't care about the source! I'm just trying to keep the hope alive here...

I don't believe this has been mentioned, but Dean Deal had another blog post on friday concerning LRAP. Again, no mentions of admissions, but signs of life nevertheless.

Thought y'all would like to know. I received my waitlist letter, dated April 6, 2011 which says:
At this point in the process, we have stopped admitting any more applicants for the present, and we have sent out a large number of denial letters to those whom we will not be accepting. In a number of cases, including your own, we have followed a different course...

But it said they already "sent out". We have been pending for so long, if they didn't want to take another course with ours, we should have been sent one of those? Just a guess.

Any information on that letter about how big the waitlist is/ how many they take on average? I though Yale's was surprisingly open with the information.

Yeah I would've like to at least have the choice but overall we all had great cycles.

Nope. Just says that the WL is not ranked so they can balance the class depending on who takes their offers. Sorry.

I'm glad we have a place to bemoan our (likely) loss. Most other people in my life would punch me about right now. Still, losing someone that I have wanted so badly for so long is just so tough.

There are two admits in LSN after 4/6. Don't pay much attention to the language of those one-size-fit-all letters. They are specifically designed to cause the least negative psychological impact on the recipient.

Agreed. Oh well, we all have other great options available, so I guess it's time to start getting excited about them.

I get this. I just don't understand exactly how it applies. Why would I care if people were being admitted after I got the waitlist? The timing doesn't matter. It's the fact that you got waitlisted that would cause an impact (or make you somewhat cheerful and surprised in my case).

It matters for some people. Psychologically, people like to grade themselves relative to other people's performance. Just a fact of life.

I heard from someone (an alum) that from this point forward the number game starts. They have some apps that they like, some for their numbers, some for softs and some for both. They are waiting to see if those already admitted go elsewhere (i.e. Y or H). If some do go, then you have to look at your reserves and see who can you bring in to keep the 25/75 intact. If most of the good numbers stay, those with lower numbers and better softs have more chance.

It looks like that from the WL admits from LSN last year too (numbers wise)
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
