but what does this all mean???
is sending a LOCI a good idea at this point? or do they have so much paper floating around that office, that mine'll go straight to the trash?
This is logically incorrect. If they bothered to throw things straight to the trash, they wouldn't have so much paper floating around.
Not if you think about it in terms of limits: That is, the office only can contain a certain amount of paper, everything else gets trashed.
If we have 100 papers in this office, then we will trash the incoming papers.
Your office needs to run like a queue instead of a stack.
Even queues have limits.
And a stack is a vertical queue.
This is beginning to sound like Donald Rumsfeld's poetry.
So I guess sending LOCI= good idea?

Queue limit is just the length of the queue. Stack is a reverse functioning queue. So If you have a queue, you discard the oldest when limit is reached. When you have a stack, you discard the newest.
ETA: it's only 5 weeks, I am 50/50 on the LOCI.

I really want to call and be like ... I submitted in September, when if ever can I expect to hear anything?
Does anyone have experience with trying that?

I did that at UVa and got in the next week, but who knows how that worked for real.

Thanks. This is probably my number 1 choice right now, so seeing DLS is a bit nerve racking. Will keep you posted.
keep thinking positive. if you didn't get a ding/rejection e-mail, that is a good sign.
Thanks. Does NYU ding/WL via email or snail mail?
if you backtrack on this forum you will see some people reporting dings via e-mail. i believe some people reported dings in the 170s (pages in this forum, not LSAT scores).

It's
New York University, not Happy Touchy Feely University. This isn't the midwest.

generally, if you aren't admitted within 2-3 weeks of going UR, are you destined for W/L/ding? or is there a large group of applicants who get accepted after being UR for a while? i feel like all the people with DLS have been admitted fairly quickly! is this due to the TLS sample?

I'm still waiting for a decision with Berkeley myself.

If I don't make it out of Faculty Review Committee I hope they at least send me to the Good Vibes Committee.

Has anyone gotten mail from NYU OTHER than the purple envelope or pizza box? I've got both of those and my dad said something came today-- unfortunately he's not answering the phone to tell me what it is and well, I'm not patient.
