I would do it myself but twitter blocked me from skiing too many accounts to ask spivy if we're in a countercycle

I think it actually makes sense that it's next week, given the comment made to someone during their JS1. I just really didn't want to believe it, haha.

It's when El Niño and a black cat have sex and produce an offspring. It's so fucked up that they call it a countercycle

Yeah, but it just seems like a lot of calls to make in 2 weeks if they are still targeting for April 1st.

I suppose that's true. I know their last wave last year was 3/28, but I wonder how many JS2s there were.VapidP wrote:LSRAT wrote:I think it actually makes sense that it's next week, given the comment made to someone during their JS1. I just really didn't want to believe it, haha.

Re: Harvard Law c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I hypothesize that Harvard adcoms are actually in league with TLS admins. Each year, the former gets from the latter a list of emails of participants in HLS admission threads for the current and the past 4 years; the adcoms examine the list to see if any applicants are participating in the then-current TLS Harvard admission thread for the year. Those of us who are detected via this method are reserved until the very last wave. Hence the lack of report up to this date.
Of course, there is the matter of those who reported their JS2s before the rest of us. They were the ones who were (1) smart enough to use an email address unlisted in their applications, (2) create a new email account in order to protect their anonymity, or (3) create an account after they are admitted.
And the earth is hollow, by the way. This planet never belonged to us.

I still just want my JS1! I'm really hoping there's at least one more JS1 wave.

Right? I dunno, it just feels weird. I know they've been behind all year, but don't they have to catch up at some point?VapidP wrote:LSRAT wrote:I think it actually makes sense that it's next week, given the comment made to someone during their JS1. I just really didn't want to believe it, haha.

I'd also just like to point out that theoretically, there's no reason whatsoever why they shouldn't just do all the remaining calls at the end of March. No one ever guaranteed a wave before then. Five or six people working all day could easily make 250 calls or more on 3/31. Maybe 2/22 was the penultimate wave.

If the April 1st deadline holds true, interviews would need to take place early next week, giving the adcom ~2 weeks to process and decide. This means that JS1s, if any, should come out today or Monday at the latest... IMO unless the snow day really pushed things back, then we may have a 2-3 day leewayxandra_v wrote:+2Wellthen wrote:+1ChambanaMan wrote:I still just want my JS1! That's really what I'm hoping. I agree it would have to be very soon to give them enough time. I'm worried they're done and if we haven't gotten a JS1 it means we are either WL or dinged.jpark86 wrote:If the April 1st deadline holds true, interviews would need to take place early next week, giving the adcom ~2 weeks to process and decide. As a fellow JS1 waiter, I don't have much hope of there being another JS1 wave. When the rankings came out they probably went back to the spreadsheets to try and bump the numbers.

Re: Harvard Law c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I just can't imagine the turnaround time being that quick to be honest. If you don't get a request by tonight I'd say it's pretty much over, unfortunately. When I got my JS1 request, the dates I could schedule were all over three days away... Assuming that is typical (which I'm not sure that it is), and you get one early next week, you likely wouldn't be able to interview until late next week, giving them 5 business days to decide on all of those applicants who did their JS1s this late into the cycle- just doesn't seem viable to me given how many people they still haven't gotten back to. There is definitely still hope for a WL though. Fingers crossed for you.ashrice13 wrote:As a fellow JS1 waiter, I don't have much hope of there being another JS1 wave.
