DLS. I'm just going to wait to be surprised when I read the letter as the good lord intended.

Anyone else have to type in a verification code because they keep checking their status checker so much?

does anyone have the link to that one graph that showcases how many people were dinged/accepted/waitlisted per day/month or whatever?
If they're still holding on, is that a good thing?..

I mean, theoretically if you're still under review, you could still be accepted without the WL. At this point, I don't think that's very likely. I bet the vast majority of us are headed for the WL/ding category and just haven't heard yet.hellomellow wrote:does anyone have the link to that one graph that showcases how many people were dinged/accepted/waitlisted per day/month or whatever?

I do hope there are a few more acceptances, though.

Does DSL mean a definite ding?
I assumed it did ... but then why is everyone calling the office to ask?

Got my letter today and it's a waitlist. I'm glad for my pride's sake that it isn't a ding, but I think the outcome will be the same. I wish everyone who is staying on the waitlist good luck!

The charm of DLS survival has official worn off for me.
Stanford has reduced me to begging for my death, like I'm some sort of mad scientist's hideously botched cloning/gene splicing experiment.
Why would they hold rejections until the very end? They filled their class long ago...

I second the sentiment, but still feel more like a norseman eagerly waiting to feast in Valhalla. I prefer that imagery.EquallyWrong wrote:The charm of DLS survival has official worn off for me.

Obviously you are coming at this as someone with more self esteem than a poster whose avatar is a Franz Kafka illustrated by Robert Crumb.Chalupa-Batman wrote:I second the sentiment, but still feel more like a norseman eagerly waiting to feast in Valhalla. And yep that sounds like my understanding of a 1L diet.

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
I think there are deadlines between now and May 1. I mentioned I have the same May 1 deadlines as everyone else and she said they're trying to prioritize the people who need decisions right away.love4life29 wrote:I don't mean this sarcastically - but does anyone NOT have a deadline? I thought most deadlines were May 1st.IrishJew wrote:Still waiting here.
FWIW I just called Stanford to ask for clarification, but I didn't get any special insider info. They said they're making decisions daily and hope to have them all done by April 30 and are giving some priority to applicants who have told them they have another deadline approaching.
I did get one useful piece of information. I had heard somewhere that other schools can't force you to make a final decision until you had heard back from all schools, so I asked them about that as well. What they said was that other schools can force you to commit to them and make a deposit by their deadline, but they cannot force you to withdraw from schools you haven't heard from. My understanding is that if the deadline at your next top school rolls around, you should accept and give them a deposit but can keep your Stanford app alive. Then if you get into SLS you can accept but will probably lose your deposit at school #1. At least, that's how I understood one person on the phone, let me know if I'm wrong on that.
Good luck waiters, sorry rejects.

As a 1/8 completer, I can only imagine how infuriating it must be to sign in every time and see:
Current status: Your file has been submitted for review
Current status date: 9/x/2013
Just a reminder that you've been waiting 7 months. I would break something fragile.
