can someone clarify how the waitlist process works? Does the existence of a preferred waitlist mean there is also a normal waitlist? Furthermore, is there a "special group" within the preferred waitlist or is that just how all the emails are worded?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but from what I understand there are three groups-- in descending order of how much they like (f'ing w/) you: 'special preferred,' 'preferred,' and the non-qualified waitlist.

Second-post interview update, literally one day after my first one, but I haven't sent a LOCI. Hmmm... I would try to figure out if this means something, but for the sake of my sanity, I won't.

I was able to generate a password for the ASW after my second post-interview update, although I can't remember if it was right after I updated or later on that night. HTH

Complete on 3-6 or so. Interviewed on 3/22, updated on 3/26 and then again today (3/28). What does it all mean!

Hey all - I was (am?) on the special preferred wait list. Emailed to say I would sell my firstborn to go to GULC on Monday. It updated today - my address is fleshed out and the USA is there - but I can't generate a password for the asw site. Did this happen to anyone? I'm worried.

I was updated with USA on a Fri, but couldn't generate a password until Mon, so try again in 24 hours. Got my acceptance letter on Tuesday (I live in DC). I wasn't able to login though until Fri. I'm pretty sure you are in because they supposedly only update with USA if they have to mail you something, and they only mail acceptances. Congrats!

When you say "update to USA," Do you mean your whole address disappears except for a "USA"? Or do you mean that USA is added to your address?

I had USA added to "country of citizenship" or whatever the category is. My address also changed from having # to "Number" for my apartment number. It updated yesterday.

Fwiw, I still can't login to the admitted students site. I need a break from the Internet.

At least you guys have replies. I would typically think no response is good, but I don't know what they would be waiting on for two months. I'm guessing I'm right on the cut between the last waiting list and rejected. I'm just so impatient at this point.
