I was just hoping there was something else to the joke, because I like WG5 and was hoping there was something actually funny there and I just wasn't seeing it.

Pretty sure I'd beat you hands down in the not-funny race (though that's probably clear already). It's all good.

I'm probably just a bit on edge because of all the "worst President ever--look, now he's buying his bodyguards hookers (oh yeah and he's a secret Muslim!!!!!)" crap my mother keeps emailing me. My bad.

And just because I had some free time, it appears no one was accepted off the reserve in 2011 or 2010. I could be wrong but I found the reserve pages and skimmed through them until the end. A handful of people rode it out until the 3rd reserve but no one was admitted ultimately.

I think this was because Columbia overenrolled in both 2010 and 2011. They were aiming for a class of 380 and got a class of more than 400 the last 2 years. I do think this year they have been a lot more careful, and aggregated with the decline in applicants, Columbia will be more likely to utilize the reserve. Therefore, if any of you have gotten reserved, I would recommend staying on. Just be realistic about your chances, but don't give up hoping.

Heard from Columbia today after being "held." I was placed on "Reserve." I'll stay on the list, but I doubt it will happen for me.

The second page of the reserve email attachment is not making me very confident. I graduated a LONG time ago & I wont have any significant academic updates.

Can someone post the entire email just for my curiosity's sake? I want to prepare myself emotionally.

I was starting to think about this too. I know they really overenrolled the past two cycles. I am hoping too that this cycle they made a more conscious effort to keep to the 380 and in the process, will need to dip into the reserves. We shall see.

I thought it was their version on WL. It's been a bad place in the past couple years due to Columbia over-enrolling regular admits. If they adjusted this year, they might draw from the reserve.

Do the recent Reserves mind sharing their stats? I'm curious to see what this new batch of decisions looks like. If EDers are getting reserved, what does that say about the rest of us?

obviously reserves get admitted or (more likely) denied for admission this year, but do they ever get offered a deferred admission for next year?
