Which address is listed on your status checker? Permanent or current?hopefulundergrad wrote:They sent my letter to my permanent address, not my current one. Call your parents and see if they got it.GeePee wrote:I got a Xmas card today but no letter
My current address is listed, however I'm debating whether or not to go back to my current address today (Im at my permanent address now), or wait until tomorrow in case it comes here tomorrow.

I didn't receive the letter yet, but my interviewer emailed me to say congrats on the acceptance! Pretty psyched!

In at Georgetown. Received letter with small handwritten note (nothing particular to me except my name) and Christmas card. Has Georgetown released $ offers yet, and does not having one mean I don't get any?

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
So this might be a bit of heresy, but I was wondering if anyone knew any information about defering? I just received my acceptance notice the 23rd, but I also just found out that my wife is pregnant! I don't really want to me starting my first semester at the same time as our first kid is getting started. I've been looking at the Georgetown website, but the only information I can find is about the deferral list, not anything about how to request one. Any information that anybody had would be greatly appreciated!

This is just speculation, but I would be very surprised and depressed if they hassled you about a deferral. Seems like if you couldn't get one then who could?

For everyone's information, the GTown admissions office is closed until January 4th. The TLS in me noticed their automatic reply e-mail spelled January wrong -- the judge won't like that!

Sorry if this has been discussed, but did anyone get scholarship info with their admissions letter? Or is that stuff coming later?

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I asked earlier in thread w/o response. On LSN, I see that no one has posted $ info. On GTown website, I see they talk about applying for financial aid separately and on a separate deadline. I'm not sure, but maybe that is how/when it is administered?Eazy E wrote:Sorry if this has been discussed, but did anyone get scholarship info with their admissions letter? Try using the e-mail adress they gave you to ask them. I don't know if they will respond to it, but they might.hopefulundergrad wrote:Got the email from Cornblatt today about ASW and the AS website but still can't log in. Just going to call on Monday.
Pretty sure scholarships and the such aren't done until later. I don't know of anyone who has been offered anything from them.

I was admitted in early November, and withdrew from admission today, so a slot would have opened up.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Most other schools in Georgetown's range (i.e. Duke, Penn, Michigan, Vandy, etc.) give scholarships out between Jan-March (many beginning in late Jan or early Feb). Some schools do give scholarships out with decisions or soon thereafter (BU, UCLA, Texas, a few of UVA's special ones), but mostly you have to wait.
I've heard that Georgetown invites certain applicants to apply for merit scholarships in January, but this isn't confirmed.
Hope this helps and I'd love if someone could confirm the scholarship application process.

For Georgetown, they will send each student who is considered for a scholarship notification I believe starting in Late January. Then you will have to write an essay and send it back for them to consider you.annabell wrote:Most other schools in Georgetown's range (i.e. Duke, Penn, Michigan, Vandy, etc.) give scholarships out between Jan-March (many beginning in late Jan or early Feb). Is there only going to be one ASW? There's only one listed on the admitted students site.
Edit: There's another one March 25-26.
