Sorry man. Holds seen so weird at this point. Till when will they hold you? Straight waitlist seems more appropriate. Though honestly I would rather have that hold, they're expecting withdrawals from ppl who didn't get enough $$ and then they'll get back to your app for sure.luxurylawyer wrote:Held. Bittersweet. On a completely unrelated topic, did anyone ever dreamt about NU? Its the second time I literally dreamt about NU. It was summer and my apartment was in front of one of the lake beaches. But it was more like Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro… and I was so excited about going out and enjoy. As I reached for my bathing suit this gigantic scorpion attacked me and I fought him. When I bet him I want outside and had the time of my life. Great dream, didn’t want to wake up. Meaning seems obvious.

I actually haven't had a single law-school related dream yet. Hmm. This one seems awesome though. The scorpion is your fear of failure? Beating it symbolizes the dream job you get after graduation? Or does it mean you're scared of scorpions?

Ok, screw that then, I'm not living next to the school. Definitely not worth that much money.
So where's the best place to go for something like a 3/3 at a good price without the commute being too ugly? Straight up the red line? Maybe somewhere out west by the green or blue line?

DLS too. Guessing a hold based on others today. I'm stuck in court only on my phone though. Can someone post or send the decision letter page?! Thanks!

3/3 is going to be tough anywhere in the city. Like I said, check out padmapper. Your best bet would be Lincoln square or maybe Lincoln Park. Rogers Park is cheap but your commute will be like 40 minutes each way. 2/2 or 2/1 can be had in lakeview or Lincoln park for less than 2000untar614 wrote:Ok, screw that then, I'm not living next to the school. Huh, weird stuff going on over there. I think "held" doesn't exist anymore and they meant it to be waitlist the whole time?

Now it says the decision letter system has an error. I think you are probably right about the waitlist/hold situationMicdiddy wrote:Huh, weird stuff going on over there. I think "held" doesn't exist anymore and they meant it to be waitlist the whole time?

You're probably right. I'm a natururalized American and English is not my first language (which sucked for the LSAT). Then I had a significant back injury which harmed my GPA and some other stuff too. Nothing too bad like some of the Vetereans may had while serving, just my own cross to bear.
But then I think, gee, I'm an immigrant with a shot of getting into one of the most prestigious law schools in the richest country on the planet, to me that is remarkable. Got to love the USofA.

Dude, it really IS remarkable. It's hard to keep perspective when you're so focused on the very best schools, but it's always good to take a step back and think "wow, I am going to one of the best schools there is, just deciding between which one. That's already awesome."Danny Boyo wrote:You're probably right. I'm a natururalized American and English is not my first language (which sucked for the LSAT). And anyway, supposedly NU responds well to attention and continued interest. Being "outed" on this thread, showing that you think about them daily and want to attend, has seen positive reults in years past. Might be confusing correlation for causation though

Really excited... Need to get my fin aid essays done ASAP and try to figure out if I can visit. I love NU but have some approaching deadlines from other schools that will make it tough to get my fin aid decision before I have to decide on other schools. So happy though!

Yeah, I'm pretty pumped about law school in general, and NU is definitely my first choice. I made it clear that I'll attend NU should they offer me a seat but I'll keep on fighting for them in case they waitlist me or something (I guess thats where that big ass scorpion comes in).
