Has anyone that has had an interview already been wait listed and/or denied? If so, which wait list have you gotten on?

Many posters (including me) interviewed and were then placed on the the various wait lists. I have not heard of anyone who was rejected though._jack wrote:Has anyone that has had an interview already been wait listed and/or denied? If so, which wait list have you gotten on?

Ya, I got preferred, others got special group, others got regular. Don't think I heard of anyone getting a rejection.
Happens 1-2 weeks after the interview.

Received the "special group" on preferred list. Anyone know the chance of getting in still?

It varies from year to year, but the trend seems to be that the "special group" usually stands a pretty good chance of getting in. Those of us on the other lists have to sit tight and keep our fingers crossed (I'm on the prefered waitlist, but not the special grouprandb20 wrote:Received the "special group" on preferred list. Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I assume these lists are somewhat unpredictable because there are so many variables. My theory is that this year might be a bit less favorable for PWLs than prior years. With GULC rising in the rankings and Sandra Fluke providing positive press, I assume at least some seats won't open up that might have opened up in previous years, and some people who might have withdrawn in the past might stick around a little longer this year. On the other hand, the drop in applicant pools across the board sways things the other way. They estimate 50 seats will be drawn from the wait lists, but who knows the size of the PWL pool and the prospective yield within this group?

Wait, so the special group within the preferred waitlist is actually another group? meaning there's normal waitlist, preferred waitlist, and special group within preferred waitlist?
In that case, anybody know if people getting off the waitlist still have any shot at money? or is it just gonna be loans at that point.

Been complete since 2/8. When do we think final decisions will go out? I don't expect to get in but do want to know.

Does anyone know when they start pulling people off waitlists? I was put on the special preferred and just had an interview this past weekend, would it be wrong to hope for an acceptance this week?

It seems that April 1 is the response deadline for people that have received scholarships, so that may cause some movement in following weeks.Lawbro wrote:Does anyone know when they start pulling people off waitlists? If I participated in an interview and got placed on the preferred waitlist, is there a chance that the school might ask for another interview to see if I can get off the waitlist? I guess I'm confused as to how people get off of the waitlist
