Actually the majority of it is just a rehash of the information from the website. I did not really learn anything new reading though it.wackjickham wrote:My reaction was: Can I pay $1,000 less in tuition and look at all this kind of stuff online? Re: Cornell waiting room
so I got an email yesterday telling me that I'm under review and that they want me to send them my fall grades...
I was hoping they wouldn't ask me that
slight downward movement isn't that bad right? or am I screwed? (stupid LSATs...)

I've been complete since 11/20. That makes it 9 weeks. I'm very excited to see if they are going to be able to keep their promise of "a written decision by the next 8 to 12 weeks."

Eh...well, if "slight" is like the difference between a 3.39 and a 3.33 or something...probably not.fasttrack226 wrote:so I got an email yesterday telling me that I'm under review and that they want me to send them my fall grades...

tell me about it...oh well, the good news is that at least there's some movement on that site....caliborn wrote:fml ... since I applied 12/15 I probably should not expect anything from cornell until next monthRovias wrote:Just went complete today was at applied status 11/25. with their 44% increase in apps though, I worry that by the time they roll around to my app (submitted 12/16) there will be no more room

Dear, Cornell
Changing my application status to "Complete 11/17/09" doesn't change the fact that you actually changed my status to complete on "1/22/10". I just thought you should know that.

Had the opposite happen yesterday (except changed to 1/21/09). Odd that yours happened that way...Cupidity wrote:Dear, Cornell

Has anyone admitted, other than Dean's scholarship people, heard any word on merit aid? I was accepted EA and am wondering if they already sent out offers.

I'm hoping for some $ from Cornell and have been on the lookout for $ news, but I haven't seen any mention yet of actual $ offers being made, just that some EA kids got the invitation to apply for the Dean's scholarship.def2104 wrote:Has anyone admitted, other than Dean's scholarship people, heard any word on merit aid? Re: Cornell waiting room
After reading the admitted student viewbook it seems that to receive merit grants you have to fill out the fafsa and needaccess forms by March 15th. Maybe a current 1L can let us know how it happened last year.def2104 wrote:Has anyone admitted, other than Dean's scholarship people, heard any word on merit aid? Re: Cornell waiting room
Not a 1L but I ended up deferring last year so I went through the fin. aid process.
Yes, since Cornell combines need and merit in their calculation for grants you have to submit your information before you will hear about the possibility of any merit money. Also, you should note that Cornell requires you to fill out needaccess as well as fafsa. This is a bit more complicated and it will require your parents' information as well even if they are not helping you pay for law school. Just have the information submitted by March 15th and you should hear back shortly after. They will send you more info in the mail (most likely in February) and if you go to an ASW they will have a financial aid session during that time and tell you exactly how the process works.

I went complete just now! I saw it on the status checker (no e-mail yet). The weird thing is, the date on the status checker didn't change, but my status did, so read the message carefully.WhyBother? wrote:Veritas2010 wrote:I've been "Applied" since 11/24/2009.

Ditto, my date did not change either. According to the complete status: "If, your application was complete by February 1, you should receive a written decision by the next 8 to 12 weeks." AGHGHG. I waited 9 weeks just to go from applied to complete!!!WhyBother? wrote:I went complete just now! I saw it on the status checker (no e-mail yet). Okay! That's it... Is ANYONE still stuck at mid-November "application received???"
This doesn't include 2010-2011 applicants as I am sure the smartest of the bunch would have handed in their apps now if they wish for it to be complete by the next cycle...
