Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Also, for all of you who have received emails, does GULC send the reject/waitlist/hold email to your primary email or to the email listed as "2nd mail" on the status checker. I am just realizing that my "2nd mail" (my school mail) has been down since 12/22 or so for server maintenance (or restart or something) and now I'm getting paranoid that they sent my reject/waitlist email to that email and I haven't gotten it. All previous correspondences with Gtown (like for the interview request, etc.) have been sent to the primary email. Anyone have 2 emails listed? Which email did Gtown use?

What does the Georgetown Christmas card mean? "We look forward to welcoming you to our community" I went DR on the 22nd, no rejection/waitlist email, but no acceptance yet either. Can I pretty much assume I'm in?

I was DR 12/21 and live close enough to DC to get my acceptance letter before christmas, but the accepted students site won't issue me a log in.Mu2mEVXER wrote:reihsu wrote:exact same situation

Ha, I got the Christmas card before the acceptance letter... Assuming that "We look forward to welcoming you to our community," means I'm in though.

So it's two separate letters? The Xmas card and then the admit letter. I've got the Xmas card today (postmarked 12/23), I guess still waiting on the admit letter...j nyc wrote:in at georgetown! i live on the east coast!
very kind note from the dean...
and a christmas card too.
decision rendered 12/21
good luck everyone!

I think it's safe to say if you got the Xmas card, then you will get the admit letter.hopefulundergrad wrote:So it's two separate letters? The Xmas card and then the admit letter. Admit letter was sent to my permanent address (parent's house). They called me this morning letting me know I was in.

Is the consensus that 12/21 DR people will be able to access the admitted students site tomorrow?
Also, what's the deal with Curriculum B? Dean Cornblatt mentioned in my personal note that "Curriculum B would be a great fit for me bc of my interdisciplinary approach to learning."

Wow, very interesting. Definitely something I would like to pursue. Does anyone know whether these students are at a disadvantage since they aren't taking the same core courses as the rest of the 1Ls in the country? How do employers view Curriculum B?GeePee wrote:http://www.law.georgetown.edu/curriculu ... iculum%20Bhopefulundergrad wrote:Is the consensus that 12/21 DR people will be able to access the admitted students site tomorrow?

TLS: Follow-up: How do employers react to Section 3 students as compared to students in the traditional curriculum?
I think over time the statistics have shown that it's the same. I think maybe some of the older interviewers who aren't familiar with this sort of thing, for instance Democracy & Coercion, want to know where the old stand-bys are. It may have been that ten years ago there was an issue, but for now we have found no evidence that it in any way impacts employment. These students are learning the same things that students in other sections are; it's just presented with a different emphasis.

Got my acceptance letter tonight! (It arrived on 12/23 but I was out of town.) Surprisingly personalized note from the dean, too.

Is everyone getting their acceptance letters at their permanent address or current address? Received the Christmas Card a couple days ago, still waiting on the official word.

Thanks dude. Admittedly, I haven't researched non-University of Chicago schools very well yetwackjickham wrote:From the TLS interview with Dean Cornblatt:hopefulundergrad wrote:Wow, very interesting.
