Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Am I still part of the 180?
Edit: No, I am not.
BTW, when is the April's ASW?

Hey anyone know the JS1 schedule for next week? I'm really hoping that next week being after ASW and having the February LSAT scores out there will be a JS2 wave... If they dont have many interviews to conduct that would make me feel alot better. That would be swell...

Not till the 18th I believe. They could easily wait a few week s to start up waves again unfortunately And still leave enough time for travel reservations.Veronica2015 wrote:Am I still part of the 180?

can someone clarify - this weekends ASW is Saturday-Sunday? Saturday-Monday? Friday-Sunday? basically - is there even a potential for js2s on Friday?

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I'm betting on next week too. Here's my hypothesis as to what happened: faculty review was late getting back with their decisions, meaning if JS was to make calls when she got the list it would've been past the RSVP deadline for the accepted student weekend, and that would've been a headache dealing with the "well, I can't make the next one, why can't I just come to this one?" requests. Therefore, the decision was made to hold off on calls until after the accepted student weekend was done.DiniMae wrote:My coins are still on next week.nickhalden wrote:The wave has to be today.LetsGoMets wrote:Starts on Saturday afternoon, continues through early afternoon on Monday.

From an event planning perspective, that would be a major headache. Makes sense to me.antiworldly wrote:I'm betting on next week too. Just realized that this is the only one this cycle to reach 180. No one else is even close. What does that say about this thread (or the people in it)?Nonconsecutive wrote:Page 180 is good luck.
This is completely not anecdotal evidence at all, nope, but I did get into every school I poasted on page 180 for.

Not a fan of this rational explanation.antiworldly wrote:I'm betting on next week too. it is strange how active this is. every year too. maybe because of the large class size? but there are other schools with large class sizes. maybe because it's the most 'attainable' (i.e. not black-box) of HYS? maybe because of the interviews?

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I think probably a result of the Harvard 'timeline' being more predictable because of interviews and waves. Yale and Stanford give out acceptances in trickles and there is no obvious rhyme or reason to it.qwertyTLS wrote:it is strange how active this is. every year too. maybe because of the large class size? but there are other schools with large class sizes. maybe because it's the most 'attainable' (i.e. not black-box) of HYS? maybe because of the interviews?
Also we are all neurotic.

I'd guess it is a combination of lay prestige + best chance of admission (large class + most numbers based of HYS).qwertyTLS wrote:it is strange how active this is. every year too. maybe because of the large class size? but there are other schools with large class sizes. maybe because it's the most 'attainable' (i.e. not black-box) of HYS? maybe because of the interviews?

Any precedent for this? That is, have H or any T14s sent admit waves the week leading up to an ASW?antiworldly wrote:I'm betting on next week too.
