Elleonleo wrote:wait, is the claim that a wave of acceptances, and only acceptances, will occur this week? To be clear, is this supposed wave coming in conjunction with a wave of rejections? OR are we talking about acceptances all coming relatively at the same time (SOOON), after which we can sort of expect rejections to come down the road?
I guess i'm mainly wondering this to know if I should be excited about a possible acceptance coming today/tomorrow without worrying about a possible rejection at the same time. Wow can this waiting game sound any sadder.
We think an acceptance wave would come right before ASW so they could have high numbers/the fact that the enrollment deposit is due in about a month. They sent out a bunch of wait lists on Monday so rejections could, unfortunately, be in the mix too. But guessing what Columbia is thinking at any point is a hopeless cause anyway so who knows what's in store!

Here's to hoping they tell us something today and don't make us wait another week!

I don't doubt it, but we have the same numbers and my softs aren't too shabby... it's just weird that they can be so fast with some and take 3x as long with other fairly comparable applicants. I wish I could make sense of their metric.checkers wrote:Stubba has really strong softs. That + having the numbers they want probably helped.waferthinmint wrote:... I have a feeling the Columbia admissions office reads this forum every day just to get a good laugh at seeing all of us frantically hope for any sign of a decision & only to wonder what they might be up to next. I'm on to you, guys

They must be wasting time doing something if it takes 2 months for an application to go complete.tenniscourt wrote:I have a feeling the Columbia admissions office reads this forum every day just to get a good laugh at seeing all of us frantically hope for any sign of a decision & only to wonder what they might be up to next. for real, if Duke PT and other schools can go complete in literally one day, Columbia needs to do something differentlycheckers wrote:They must be wasting time doing something if it takes 2 months for an application to go complete.tenniscourt wrote:I have a feeling the Columbia admissions office reads this forum every day just to get a good laugh at seeing all of us frantically hope for any sign of a decision & only to wonder what they might be up to next. Heck, I'd be happy with just at least knowing when you're under review.

Although the random couple of acceptances yesterday were suspicious. I wonder why that happened

I think that's how it's going to go from now on. I'll bet they have more admits than seats, and are tinkering at the edges of the class as people decline. Source: my crystal balltenniscourt wrote:Although the random couple of acceptances yesterday were suspicious. I wonder why that happened
