2/23 - interview offer email
3/6 - interview
3/12 - update with expanded address (no USA)
3/15 - update with no new info

Anxiously waiting with cautious optimism haha

I have the same question as I received an identical email today to Schang1 and am not sure if I should be cautiously optimistic or not as I have seen numerous individuals being admitted off of the "special preferred" waitlist. Any insight would be appreciated!

Welcome to the SPWL! Based off this, and last yr's cycle, it seems to contain mostly YP and some splitters...YP candida
tes seem to have gotten in off the list pretty quickly with LOCI, the rest of us are still waiting with tempered optimism (or maybe i just speak for myself...).

I'm a splitter on the SPWL. Have you noticed anything about last year's cycle? Did most of the SPWL candidates get admitted? I have no more fingernails.

Link to last yrs WL cycle is on the first page of this thread....i read thru most of it. The first few years they started using the SPWL, they ended up accepting nearly everyone off the list. Last year's cycle seemed to leave quite a few people hanging, eventually rejected.

They also seem to have favored splitters with LSATs at or above 170...which is a bummer for me.

Either way, tho, totally depends on how many apps they've received, and the number of deposits, obvs.

I'm also running out of ways to kill time while quelling anxiety over this. Maybe I'll just take up smoking.

Not sure if this is helpful for anyone, but I was put on the SPWL about 3 weeks ago and I got an acceptance letter in the mail today. If I can provide you with any more useful info, please feel free to contact me.

did they update your status checker during that time?

If so, did you get the USA update?

And has anybody gotten a status update on the weekend?

I believe I had multiple updates with the last one coming on 3/12. I am not a US Citizen, so my status has always had my country of Citizenship on there. I do believe that at some point, I had an address expansion at the top of the page.

I have gone complete now 4 times in the past 2 weeks (the last one being today). Anyone experience something similar? No USA either..Thank you.

I also have been updated 4 times beginning 3/12.

I'm beginning to think my address was always "expanded" though, since I haven't gotten a USA yet and I wrote my full address (no abbreviations) on my application.

I just lately joined this forum, but back near the end of February I was placed in the special-group-preferred etc. (If it matters, I sent in my application in mid-February...).

I immediately sent a brief response to Ms Spada, to which she replied within a day or two. But last week I sent in a more detailed LOCI and have yet to hear/read back from her. Ought I to send another email, asking if she/they received my LOCI and to place it in my file?

I went complete 01/04 and didn't hear anything until I got an acceptance in the mail yesterday. So no news can mean good news.

This gives me so much hope...been at "completed" since 12/19 with nothing...not even an interview

It's been extremely quiet in this thread as of late, must be the calm before the storm. I feel like a wave of rejection is going to wash over the masses tomorrow.

May i ask whether people who have sent locis have emailed them or send them via mail?

I spoke with Admissions the other day and was told that email was better because it allows them to put materials in your file faster. Apparently snail mail is especially slow for them.

Updated later that evening, then another update Wednesday.

My interviewer said Georgetown asked her to meet w/me and submit her assessment before the 23rd (today). She said she was submitting it right after the meeting on Tuesday. I assume that means something is going to happen on or shortly after today....

She also said she's recommending me for admission, and that I'll love it there. I said I hope they accept me, and she indicated they will. So I'm curious, how much pull does the interviewer actually have? Or was she just getting carried away in the moment?

No idea how much pull an interviewer has, but hope your good interview means good news! (esp since i updated Wednesday too!)

No idea how much pull an interviewer has, but hope your good interview means good news! (esp since i updated Wednesday too!)

My interviewer said something similar, though less explicitly (told me which section I should sign up for, that he'd give me advice on professors, things like that).
