No VCE (yet?), but I did get the G-Town packet yesterday; it was postmarked 1/25. It did take me a while to get NYU's letter, so I think I'll hold out hope until Monday.Non-Chalant1 wrote:Nope, didn't get the G-Town packet either. The snow has probably ruined a lot of things. You?timmna wrote:

Re: Columbia 2011!
For those who have received the wonderful VCE, would anyone happen to know if Columbia provides a travel stipend for ASW?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Just as a guide, my original letters from gtown and nyu were both postmarked on a Wed and arrived in CA the following Mon. Given the snow, I'll give it till Monday...

Re: Columbia 2011!
Ok! So, here's a weird one! Still no VCE... HOWEVER, the mailman just rang the door and handed me the Columbia Admitted Students binder... what!? So... in!? It doesn't even actually have my name in the binder itself just 'Dear Admitted Student.' But, the envelope is definitely addressed to me, so I'm going with in!
Unless, this is supposed to come in a VCE, or some such? I'm confused...

Forget the inner workings of the law, this thread is providing me with a quality education in the strange dealings of the USPS. Oh mail service.

Re: Columbia 2011!
Yep, just a binder in a white envelope (hey, at least it was one of those waxy weather resistant ones!)! No VCE, and the letter inside the binder didn't actually have my name printed on it. Although it did say congratulations again, so... sounds like that VCE is MIA! I also have no idea about any scholly information either, and the username/password are just general info, not specific to me.c_dubya_s wrote:

Wait so it was an actual binder? Is that different than the other pretty folder that others have been putting up pictures of?Zatarra wrote:Ok! So, here's a weird one! Still no VCE... Also, ask when previous batches went out (we need a 1/26 confirmation) and yeah... how long it would reasonably be for a VCE to arrive in NYC.
Also, CONGRATS! i hate you just a little bit, out of sheer jealousy. and i love you because you give me hope.

So it has been in the 60s and sunny down here in beautiful austin texas but I have not gotten ANY mail whatsoever for the past 3 days... Any thoughts? Think I should call my post office and ask about the whereabouts of my mailman? Maybe he quit unexpectedly and they have yet to find a replacement...
