I'll assume you weren't insinuating anything and/or trying to come off as stuck up so I'll let that one pass. I'm glad you don't feel that a job would benefit you at this juncture in your life; that's one less thing you have to worry about, I suppose. Best of luck to you in your cycle.Aggiegrad2011 wrote:
Yep. Don't think a lot of thought and planning hasn't gone into it, but you don't know the state of finance in our household, etc, so for you passing on a $40k job opportunity might be an awful idea but I am fortunate enough to be in a position where that isn't necessary due to excellent foresight and discipline.
Ultimately, the decision to retake is the big one.

are you saying we don't have excellent foresight and discipline because we wouldn't pass up a $40K job.....?
No offense but my family is very well off and I don’t need to work…my parents would support me if I wanted them to, but I like paying for myself because it gives me a sense of accomplishment and pride. I took a year off not because I didn’t have foresight but because I felt I needed a break. I CHOSE to do everything I am currently doing and I’m not stuck in a minimum wage job, so what you said is kindof insulting. I don't know if you meant it like that, but that's how it came off.

It ended up reading a lot more arrogant than it was supposed to, sorry about that. It is true though, my husband and I made intelligent fiscal decisions early on when the majority of our contemporaries were happy to piss away all of their money, that's all. A bit of pride ended up sounding offensive.RJ127 wrote:I'll assume you weren't insinuating anything and/or trying to come off as stuck up so I'll let that one pass. No, that's not at all what I'm saying. I'm saying that for me, I am happy I don't need to work and I owe it to the fact that my husband and I planned well and made good decisions, that's all. It does not bear witness whatsoever to YOUR decision(s). At all. Not a judgment as much of an observation of my own life.Gotti wrote:Aggiegrad2011 wrote:Yep. This is a really trying time for everyone here, so I do apologize for coming across like a pretentious bitch, because I honestly did not mean to at all. Sorry to have offended.

I guess I made a big mistake not applying to UT Austin... very nice return for your apps, Swimmer!!!
An acceptance, any acceptance, in the Tier 1 would make me so happy right now.
I'm still waiting on UIUC. Dean Pless hates me!

Just want to make sure everyone knows that on the LSAC website you can see applicant/admission stats for 2009. Not all schools give them, but many do !
It is at the bottom of page 2 of the PDF about info on the school.
It gives hope.
Hope is good.
Low LSAT is not good.

Re: Reverse-Splitters Unite! - The 2010 Reverse-Splitter Thread
164/4.0 checking in
Retook in December, hoping to boost my score a few points.
Applied to 15 schools:
American
William & Mary
Wisconsin
Illinois
GW
Vandy
WUSL
Texas
Georgetown
Northwestern
Duke
Michigan
Penn
Berkeley
NYU
I wrote supplemental essays for William & Mary, Northwestern, Michigan, Penn, NYU. Did a 4-page PS version for Berkeley.
I hope to start hearing aback from schools soon when scores are released next week. Hopefully, not all of the T-14 waitlists or rejects me. :-/
