Yeah, I suppose that's the proper attitude and approach. I think TLS breeds defeatism in splitters and it's finally getting to me

It's because we so frequently get defeated.

That's the sad, sad truth of the matter. This thread is basically a natural extension of the USS Bitter Pessimism.

Hey everyone. Somehow managed to be on these forums for a while without stumbling across this thread. Anyway,

Pretty much stuck with Cali schools, you know, so when the place goes all mad max beyond the thunderdome in a few years they'll spare me for my knowledge of the law....
too late to apply to NU and still have a realistic shot? all this talk has me thinking, I do have 2 years work experience.
I should also mention I have a GPA addendum with a valid medical situation that caused me to flat out fail a bunch of classes and take a leave of absence from school, so maybe thats a slight boost.

I think I'm going to submit my second (and final) round of apps today. Wish me luck!
Also, I'm not sure if finally finishing up all of the apps is going to make the waiting better or worse. I'm already checking my status checkers about 50x/day. haha

NU doesn't need anymore failures.
In seriousness: I think NU prefers 170+ LSAT to offset a GPA that low

True, and it blows because it was probably one question - but from one 169 to another .. for the T14 you really would have needed to break that 170 barrier, especially with a GPA below 3.0.

Moving there, likely in August. In CA right now.

Congratulations!
Two more weeks until I will have been complete at Northwestern for their stated 8-week decision turnaround time. My nerves are thoroughly racked.

179/3.4; sub-Ivy UG; 4 years out of college, Iraq vet.
I really have no idea where I fall out, so I went with the shotgun approach, starting with the top:
Yale
Harvard
Stanford
NYU
Columbia
Northwestern
Berkeley
Michigan
Georgetown
Duke
UCLA
Vanderbilt
USD (I got a fee waiver and it was 74 degrees out in January, so why not?)
Applied late, haven't heard back from anybody and not even complete everywhere yet.
If nothing else this is an interesting case study, no?

My cycle is progressing horribly. Anybody have any good news to cheer me up?
Also, a week without posts in this thread?

I have nothing positive to say at the moment...but my current negativity only has a tiny bit to do with pending law school apps. Still haven't received a single response, one way or another.
Glad you bumped this thread, though...we splitters have to stick together.

Fellow splitter checking in. I don't have any good news yet, but hopefully that will change in the next few weeks/months. Is anyone else retaking the LSAT in February? My GPA sucks, so every point I can gain will help.

If we don't have each other, whom do we have? Although I'm sure it'll get a lot nastier in here when everyone's on a bunch of waitlists fighting for the same spot.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
