Note that grades do not count toward GPA and you must receive permission/it must be relevant and rigorous.Lavitz wrote:Yes.swoonster wrote:does cornell law let students take classes in other colleges? i.e. business school

Re: Cornell c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Just completed my interview. The format was certainly strange and awkward but the only weird questions that I received were in the written portion so I had to time to think about what I was going to write.
I hope that my turnaround time is as fast as some of the others who interviewed this week.

You can get "permission" for virtually anything, especially in the business school. You can also take language classes and other random undergrad classes if you want. Knew a guy who took an African American history class.sonyco wrote:Note that grades do not count toward GPA and you must receive permission/it must be relevant and rigorous.Lavitz wrote:Yes.swoonster wrote:does cornell law let students take classes in other colleges? i.e. business school

Has anyone had luck getting a fee waiver?

What is the "written portion" of the interview like?

I can't speak definitively, but in my interview, the weirder questions generally appeared in the written portion. I had three written questions and was given five minutes to answer each one, with each question alternating between written and video. I didn't really have a problem answering the questions, though I wasn't sure how much I was expected to write, so for one question I ran out of time before I could finish one last sentence.MAPP wrote:What is the "written portion" of the interview like?

For those of you who got accepted, how would you say the quality of your interview was?
I just finished mine and I honestly think I shot myself in the foot... I had 7 questions and on 3 of them I didnt complete my answer...

Haha I feel kind of relieved knowing I'm not the only one in this situation right now... Although for my favorite book, I picked a fiction novel, so hopefully they don't judge me for being a nerd!

I did not get favorite book. But got some other funky ones that I could definitely be judged hard for. This interview was definitely unique.LawSchoolTitan wrote:Lawschool305 wrote:I interviewed towards the end of last week and feel your pain Titan. I hope they ask me about my favorite book. And I hope they don't judge people who enjoy fiction since my tutorial of choice in Oxford was dystopian literature. Enjoying fiction is just proof that you aren't a robot imo.LawSchoolTitan wrote:Lawschool305 wrote:I interviewed towards the end of last week and feel your pain Titan. I interviewed last week, and my status checker changed to today's date but still says "interview requested" does this mean anything? I'm asking because some other folks on here said that their status checker changed back to under review after they completed their interview?

Oh great, thanks for clarifying. I'm not sure what this means, but hopefully we'll see some movement over the next week.LawSchoolTitan wrote:I interviewed this morning and had the same changeohgosh wrote:I interviewed last week, and my status checker changed to today's date but still says "interview requested" does this mean anything? I originally had "ready for review" for 10/17 then changed to 12/2 but no interview request, anyone know what this means or experience something similar?

Same. Hoping interview request comes soon. If not, it may not be good news.AZnative wrote:Same exact situation.VA2lawschool wrote:I originally had "ready for review" for 10/17 then changed to 12/2 but no interview request, anyone know what this means or experience something similar?

Same experience, no idea what it means though. My stats are LSAT>>>75th, GPA<25th, complete beginning of October. Others mind sharing their stats?VA2lawschool wrote:I originally had "ready for review" for 10/17 then changed to 12/2 but no interview request, anyone know what this means or experience something similar?
