I wasn't planning on applying because I assumed I had no shot, but might throw my hat in the ring (at 25% GPA and right below 25% LSAT) due to outside reasons...but do you think applying now would negatively impact me opposed to applying in like September?

For all of us who aren't at median+ numbers, the earlier the better. Don't worry about September, but if you're going to apply, you should ASAP.Keilz wrote:I wasn't planning on applying because I assumed I had no shot, but might throw my hat in the ring (at 25% GPA and right below 25% LSAT) due to outside reasons...but do you think applying now would negatively impact me opposed to applying in like September?

So, maybe a silly question, but: Does Harvard update your application status on the checker past "complete" or do they do the Columbia thing where once your status is marked complete everything else comes in by email?
Turned in my application on 11/8.... it's a bit of a reach, but I went to UChicago and graduated in econ, so my low GPA is actually above average for my major (yay?)... anyway, I was wondering if Harvard updates information or if it's just a wait and see... and if you miss their calls, do they leave voicemails?

Mine only ever changed to complete. Since then despite js1 and having Interview it hasn't changed so I think it's like Columbia where it just stops updating once your app is complete.tinycatfriend wrote:So, maybe a silly question, but: Does Harvard update your application status on the checker past "complete" or do they do the Columbia thing where once your status is marked complete everything else comes in by email?

I'm in the same boat and wouldn't count yourself out yet! It seems like most of the interviews are being given to people with both stats above the 75th or nearly that...just going by the logic of what a median means, there are obviously going to be applicants with lower numbers who are also getting interviews. Try to stay positive.blahblah123 wrote:Soo.. applicants who went complete after me are getting JS1 (and I have not). Game over?

Notably, I applied in September when the application opened and I am at or above both 75ths. I haven't gotten a JS1. I am KJD.

Do most admits who interview before the first JS2 wave hear back during the first JS2?

Can anyone share their interview experience? Who you interviewed with (if not JS), how long it was, what questions asked, etc..
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Harvard Law c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Interview was super relaxed and the interviewer (for me, Anne Taylor) was incredibly warm. To be honest of all the interviews I did (Chicago, Columbia, Harvard) this was my favorite one because of how relaxed and conversational it was.Aquinas wrote:memphis7598 wrote:Can anyone share their interview experience? She had my resume up on her screen and we started off talking about my senior thesis which then led to a few followup questions that flowed from her interest in my discussion of my thesis. Then hit the obligatory "why law" and also "why law now" questions (I'm a KJD). Talked about a lot of things that were specific to me and my application including my particular career interests, why I'm interested in that path, how it related to some of the work I've done that was on my résumé, and future plans after law school. Ended with a couple questions from me as usual and the interviewer really took the time to answer them and to even tell me about opportunities at HLS that she thinks would particularly suit me given my interests and experience.
Overall it's a very relaxed interview and really because it's a conversation about yourself it should all flow naturally. Really enjoyed the whole experience. I'd be happy to explain anything further if anyone has other questions but overall it's really straight forward
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
