That seems like an excellent move. Thank you so much!canafsa wrote:notorious_mig wrote:This is great to know. Any tips in particular - weird questions you weren't anticipating or the like?AJ1010 wrote:I would definitely be prepared to talk about it. I had my interview earlier this week, and she asked me about something very specific on my transcript. I would explain it just like you did in this post. Just make sure they know that this was a one time mistake, and you learned from it etc etc..notorious_mig wrote:You rock thank you so much! I'll just stick to the facts (ma'am) (Joe Friday? Dragnet? I'm so sorry I'll go back to the 20th century). So quick question: I have an interview with Columbia next week and if I'm gonna speculate it's either because 1) I'm a borderline applicant (3.67 + 170) or 2) of my C&F. Re: the C&F, I was dismissed from my undergrad for the first semester of freshman year for having ~0.9 g of a certain green leafy substance in my dorm room (my undergrad had a v serious zero-tolerance policy which has fortunately changed since then but unfortunately means that I have a nasty "Temporarily Dismissed" on my transcript). SO if this is something that's discussed in the interview, I'm wondering what the best way to talk about it is? I absolutely don't want it to come across as me being like "WHATEVER IT WAS A DUMB RULE UGH" but I also want to make it clear that I wasn't like dealing out of my dorm room, which I worry is the impression that will come across through the words "Temporarily Dismissed." Any thoughts/advice/recipes for stress foods that I can eat in the meantime?
I don't think that is why you are being interviewed, though.
As for stress-relieving food: brownies, obviously, right?
Explain what you did and take full responsibility. Say it was an absolute case of bad judgement, you deeply regret your actions, and you are committed to never making another mistake of this nature. Do not critique the rule at all.

ED application complete on 11/14, but radio silence since then. GPA > 75, LSAT = 25. Accepted to a couple other T-14's so looks like nothing disastrous in the application... should I be bummed? General wait time from complete to interview request for ED app?

I got in ED on 11/29, after submitting on 11/02 (I went complete the next day). I had a GPA > 75 and my LSAT was in between the 25th and 50th percentile. I'm sure you'll hear soon!myronbolitar wrote:ED application complete on 11/14, but radio silence since then. GPA > 75, LSAT = 25. I withdrew mine early last week. Email seemed pretty adamant about withdrawing quickly.NorthDragon wrote:Hey when do we need to withdraw from other schools?nslaw123 wrote:In ED!!!! Just got the email.

Hi, first post here.
ED, just took my interview today. I would appreciate it if anyone who got an interview would let me know how long after the interview they received a decision?
Thanks

Same. We'll make it through though. And eventually, we'll be boss lawyers. lolcanafsa wrote:I'll be lucky to not develop a heart condition by the end of all this. This forum and the status checkers are a serious addiction for me at this point.

Just to verify, once my status checker says complete there isn't going to be any more info coming from there, right?

Perhaps I'll add an additional option each week with more exclamations than the previous weekKaziende wrote:This is a fantastic poll. Nice work OP

Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
Ignorant question but I added a third recommendation letter after submitting my application and the status website only acknowledges the first two. Do adcoms actually see a letter added after the application is complete or does it get lost in the mix?

Well, when you submitted your application, you probably checked off the box that confirmed that they can process your application after receiving only 2 letters. But regardless, they should add the letter to your file if its addressed correctly with the proper form.

I'd just shoot them an email telling them about the addition
