Did anyone who got feeler calls last week get the sense that they would continue accepting people off the wait list this week? It seems most people were told they would hear back by last Friday, and did...

The email we received after the call states we have to deposit by June 13. So, some people may get calls this week if some of us decide to reject the offer before then. Otherwise, after June 13 will be the next official round of offers I think.redrose_2121 wrote:Did anyone who got feeler calls last week get the sense that they would continue accepting people off the wait list this week? anyone get a call and not an offer..? Got a call 6/1 and was straight up told I was the type of candidate they were looking for and to expect good news in a few days. Did not specify that I'd hear by last Friday so I was confused that others were told that and received offers Fri..

The exact same thing happened to me. I'm just confused as to why they even called in the first place and got my hopes up if they weren't going to make an offer. Just seems like they're toying with my emotions right nowosgiliath wrote:Definitely call them, right nowbbb1234 wrote:anyone get a call and not an offer..? Call them. You are right on the cusp right now, and the least you will get out of calling them is that you've expressed your interest one more time which can only be good.pandapops wrote:The exact same thing happened to me. So like nearly all of you I'm highly interested in attending GT, so I wish there was something more I could do to show my interest to GT other than responding positively to their waitlist update emails...Anyone have any suggestions? Would a campus visit/meeting with admissions help at this point?

It didn't help me. If anything it appeared to hinder me. I am on the PWL, I have both a GPA and LSAT score high above their medians and I honestly didn't screw up my application. I haven't recieved any communication from them since my visit.Anonnonnon wrote:So like nearly all of you I'm highly interested in attending GT, so I wish there was something more I could do to show my interest to GT other than responding positively to their waitlist update emails...Anyone have any suggestions? Unless you are absolutely certain your personality is going to blow them away, I recommend you don't do it.

You could be yield protect. How forcefully and in how certain terms did you say Georgetown is your top choice? If they know you have scholarships at higher ranked schools and feel they are unlikely to draw you away with the funds they have left, they might be more apprehensive to give you an offer.conztance wrote:It didn't help me. Same. I visited and it didn't do anything it seems, which is particularly disappointing because I thought it went well. Sent a personalized thank you to the admissions officer but never received a reply. Also on the PWL.

Re: Georgetown Wait-List 2015-2016 (Class of 2019)
I applied late, but got pretty much full rides at everything just outside of T14, but I've turned them all down to see if I can get off of a T14 waitlist, so believe me, I made it clear I wanted in. I can't go to law school at all this year if I don't get in so I'm pretty emphatic about it. Maybe too much so?osgiliath wrote:You could be yield protect. I don't think being too emphatic is an issue at all. Maybe you can get some more recommenders to send in letters?conztance wrote:I applied late, but got pretty much full rides at everything just outside of T14, but I've turned them all down to see if I can get off of a T14 waitlist, so believe me, I made it clear I wanted in. During the call should I just state that I received a call from them last week gauging my interest and ask if there are any updates? I'm just worried about coming off too pushy or off-puttingosgiliath wrote:Call them. Did they say they would let you know something by the end of the week last week? On my call, they said I should hear something by Friday. So if they said something like that, then just reference that. Otherwise, just mention the call last week and say Georgetown is without a doubt your first choice so you are really looking forward to hearing back. They won't think you are pushy. I told them about deposit deadlines I had when they called me last week and they thanked me and said they really like to know those things. So, don't worry about sounding pushy, unless you do actually sound annoyed and pushy. Good luck!pandapops wrote:During the call should I just state that I received a call from them last week gauging my interest and ask if there are any updates? She never said anything about hearing back by Friday but I believe her phrasing was "within the next few days." Thank you for the advice!osgiliath wrote:Did they say they would let you know something by the end of the week last week? On my call, they said I should hear something by Friday. Got a feeler call around noon. They wanted to know where Gtown stood, what schools I was considering, and where I deposited.

They did not. They mentioned the second deadline, said they were interested in me, and then said we will be in touch.Anonnonnon wrote:Did they give you any indication was to when you would hear back?Law2511 wrote:Got a feeler call around noon.
