I'm definitely grateful for that! Although I'm actually leaning towards WUSTL right now. I'm taking the June LSAT because I feel like I'll regret it and always wonder "what if" if I don't at least try to raise my score (people on TLS also keep telling me to retake..)adil91 wrote:Atleast you got into Vanderbilt with a decent scholarship, want to trade?ek5dn wrote:adil91 wrote:Damn, you have better stats than me and I applied way latter than you and I was admitted last week.ek5dn wrote:Submitted late Jan...silence....lol oh well. I enjoyed having my dad there, FWIW. Guess you'll have to wait until August for your dream girl, adil!

I see what you mean. It seemed like they would definitely try to bring any jobs to you that were available--whether we would be hired is no guarantee of course, but I got the impression they would do their best to set up as many opportunities as possible! Guess we'll find out in a few years, haha.

Nah no grease. Short grayish hair, glasses, tall. I think he was wearing a light blue-gray sweater. Was the pro gun guy someone's dad? Way in the back? Or just a gravelly sounding student, going on a tangent about gunpowder after we were clearly done with it lol

I'm pretty sure I sat by you and your dad during the transactional certificate seminar! He's a lawyer right? Yeah that old dude was pretty annoying too, I'm not sure if he was a student or somebody's dad. The pro-gun guy was a white fratty dude sitting a couple rows back from me.

Ohh yes I remember, that was a great question! And yes, he is a lawyer. I liked the prof who did that presentation a lot. Totally geeked out over all those classes with simulations and mock negotiating she talked about. Sounds like fun!! I want to try out for that team she mentioned.adil91 wrote: I'm pretty sure I sat by you and your dad during the transactional certificate seminar! He's a lawyer right? I got waitlisted this morning. It doesn't seem like a lot of people get off the waitlist as per last year's LSN. Does anyone have an idea how big the waitlist is and how many people get in off of it?

Has anyone had any luck negotiating scholarships? They already raised mine once (by 3k) unsolicited bc of my woodruff nomination letter, but I would like to get a little more money from them....I was really impressed with them this past weekend and they definitely made me want to ditch Vandy

Re: Emory: Class of 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I emailed admissions asking if they were going to be admitting more students off the waitlist than last year because it seemed like very few got in and the response was basically that they don't know how I got that information and that it is confidential.. except everyone knows these threads and LSN exist so they just couldn't answer the question. Seems like people get in off the waitlist, but probably no more or less than other schools.

For those waitlisted - preferred waitlist or regular waitlist?

From what I have heard, regular waitlist is a very slim chance.

Was waitlisted yesterday but received an email saying my financial aid application has been received and I'm assigned a financial aid advisor? Really confused, but has anyone else received this email as well?

Can't wait to join some you in the fall! Does anyone know if we have to do anything to formally accept our scholarship offers? I paid my deposit, but don't see anything about that..Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure that you automatically accept your scholarship offer when you put down a deposit, but maybe call them just to be sure?

I received the same email today. I was accepted a few weeks ago. Have you filed your FAFSA yet? Maybe they want to make sure everyone who might attend has all of those forms submitted by a certain date...I would just send them an email though, they're pretty speedy with responses. Good luck!Itstatertot wrote:Was waitlisted yesterday but received an email saying my financial aid application has been received and I'm assigned a financial aid advisor? I asked Dean R today and he said it will still be the end of the month. Are they reimbursing you for other school's seat deposits? If not you should request it; they offered to reimburse me up to $1000.adil91 wrote:I hope they release scholarship info sooner rather than later, I really need to know by the 20th..

Re: Emory: Class of 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Yeah they offered me that but I would get reimbursed during the first semester. The school at which I'd be depositing(either WUSTL or Emory) would likely be a safety school for in case I don't get into Vanderbilt. So I don't want the WUSTL deposit deadline to pass and only have Emory(with an in-determinant)amount of aid as a safety school. I'd like to know how much they're giving me before I decide between Emory and WUSTLCharlie_Bradbury wrote:I asked Dean R today and he said it will still be the end of the month. Re: Emory: Class of 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Ahh I see. You should be able to put in the deposit at both though, if you wanted. When you go to pay at Emory (I haven't yet because I'm also still waiting) you can select multiple responses from the list, including one that says "Might attend Emory next fall but also have submitted deposit at another school". I know that's potentially $500 (I'm guessing WUSTL first deposit amount is $250 as well) you won't get back if you go to Vandy, but in my mind it's better to be safe than sorry!adil91 wrote: Yeah they offered me that but I would get reimbursed during the first semester. I got this same financial aid e-mail after being wait listed yesterday...I'm thinking it might be a glitch? I can't imagine they would assign us a financial aid advisor if we have not been accepted. Perhaps they intended to send those of us new to their wait list confirmation that they received our FAFSA information but accidentally sent us the full financial aid e-mail. Did anyone else get this sent to them?Itstatertot wrote:Was waitlisted yesterday but received an email saying my financial aid application has been received and I'm assigned a financial aid advisor?
