I got deferred the next day my recommender received the email, probably it means they have completed reviewing the materials.PN-G bamakid wrote:First, congratulations on getting in!navykev wrote:My circumstances were pretty similar to yours (submitted, received confirmation email, complete via status check but no email indicating complete, LOR writer "thank you" email). I rec'd my decision a few days after my LOR writers got the "thank you" email.PN-G bamakid wrote:I'm curious about this as well. I submitted on 9/29, and received confirmation that the application had been received on 9/30. Never got an email confirming the application is complete (or anything else, for that matter), although the status checker indicates that it is and one of my LOR writers received the "thank you" email.
My LOR writer forwarded the "thank you" email to me on 10/6. Haven't received any communication from Georgetown since then. Anyone know if that's an indicator of anything?

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
Saw some questions on the early decision timeline and don't mind sharing my experience:
- Submitted: 10 Sep
- Complete: 17 Sep
- Rec'd acceptance via snail mail: 17 Oct (letter was dated 14 Oct and postmarked 15 Oct)
- Status checker changed to "Deposits Fulfilled" on 27 Oct after I returned the ED form included with my acceptance letter. If you are accepted ED your deposits are waived.
I declined the interview request due to military commitments. My LOR writers rec'd an email a few days before my acceptance letter arrived.
On a side note: Im extremely fortunate that the GI Bill/YRP covers 80% of my tuition at GULC as well as living expenses (rent & books) -- so ED made sense for me. Most that apply ED will have to pay full tuition - so obviously most should think long and hard before doing that. Plenty of advice in this thread and other TLS threads on EDing to GULC. I won't beat that dead horse.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

I appreciate it and congrats once again. Interest how it took a month for a decision when the website says 3 weeks. This wait is going to be tough!navykev wrote:Saw some questions on the early decision timeline and don't mind sharing my experience:

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
Applied last week and went complete 10/23. Just got an email requesting an alumni interview. Not sure yet whether or not I will be able to do it because I travel a bunch for work and they say not doing it doesn't hurt you. Anyone have this type of interview already?

Did anyone receive an email to confirm that the application was complete? Or did y'all find out solely through the status checker?

Not sure if this is helpful for anyone, but I applied 10/12 and then didn't hear anything (I never got an application completed email or even a status checker log-in for some reason? maybe it was spam filtered out?) until acceptance letter in the mail today, letter is dated 10/27. (Not ED and didn't have any interview request.)

I submitted my application super early, not long after it came out.rebexness wrote:Has anyone else been asked for a NON group interview?
I got a group interview request a couple weeks ago but declined since I couldn't make it to DC (live in NY).
Anyway, then two days ago, I got another email asking if I wanted to do an interview, this time by an alumni.
So I was eh, whatever, I'll do it.
There are boatloads of alumni in Manhattan so I may have an in person one. Will report back once it happens.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
Applied on 10/8 and I've been locked out of the GULC status checker. All I have as my disposal is LSAC's status update but I've heard it's slow to update. I applied ED with 165/3.8 so I should be hearing back any day now. I enthusiastically threw a Boston College application invitation in the trash because it looked so similar to an acceptance letter. Glad I'm not the only one losing my mind here.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
The only way you'll find out if you're accepted to GULC is snail mail. You won't get an email, your status checker won't change at all, and LSACs status won't help either (at least up to this point).spencer.414 wrote:Applied on 10/8 and I've been locked out of the GULC status checker. My GULC status changed only when I submitted an updated ED acknowledgement form that came with my acceptance letter. My status changed to "Deposit fulfilled" -----deposits are waived if you are accepted ED since they already know they got ya!
