I'm a little late to the party, but I was also given a JS1.

Congrats to the JS1s! Good luck and I hope you all get in. Unfortunately, I also want to be admitted and feel like I just had my heart ripped out this morning.

I know the feeling.
Don't lose hope too quickly though; today was the first group of JS1 invites and there could very well be more this week.

Thanks Draw. I'm sure you have felt like that a few times in your post js1 purgatory. I think today stung a little because it was the first time I actually had some hope. After looking up what happened last year on tls and lsn, it seemed like applicants with similar numbers as me had outstanding success off the waitlist. Obviously what a school needs/looks for from waitlisted applicants changes from year to year and I have no idea how that will affect things this cycle.drawstring wrote:I know the feeling.

Any baseless speculation as to how this JS1 wave impacts those who had pre-WL JS1s? Could we possibly see a JS2 wave this week?

According to an adcom, JS2s are starting around the 15th-20th.

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2017 - WITH SPREADSHEET!
WL JS1b usually comes after the majority of the WL JS1s are done. According to earlier posters, JS1 can be scheduled all the way to Friday this week, so that effectively rules out this week as far as I am concerned. I am also not very optimistic about next week unless JS will not do as many WL JS1s this cycle compared to last. Given the late timing of WL JS1s this cycle, early the week after the next is more likely.radikal_eyes wrote:Any baseless speculation as to how this JS1 wave impacts those who had pre-WL JS1s? I'm also waitlisted at Y/H and received JS1 today. I applied mid-late January, so not sure if that hurt my chances at H.LSATneurotic wrote:Looks like we are in the same boat (h and y waitlisted). I'm pretty happy about that considering Yale hasn't even acknowledged I'm on their wait list.
Anyway, it seems like making the waitlist at yale suggests you are a pretty strong candidate for Harvard, given the relative class sizes. Thoughts?

I have no idea where to start with my LOCI, anyone have a template/their own LOCI they're willing to share? PM me if you don't want to post it in the thread. I will forever be in your debt!

LOCIs tend to be personal. You don't want a cookie-cutter one. Try this link:anagram wrote:I have no idea where to start with my LOCI, anyone have a template/their own LOCI they're willing to share? PM me if you don't want to post it in the thread. I will forever be in your debt!

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2017 - WITH SPREADSHEET!
Given my preference of living in NYC/CA I think Columbia's 3-year program is a really good option, though I wouldn't want to pay sticker for it. If I get off the waitlist at Yale that would be a lot cheaper though due to likely need-based aid at YLS and a scholarship from SOM. Not really interested in a 4-year program but if I did go to HLS would consider applying for it there (didn't apply joint this year).manu6926 wrote:Your Butler + MBA deal with Columbia looks incredible though. I'd probably go with that.kartelite wrote:I'm also waitlisted at Y/H and received JS1 today.
