I wish they got back to us faster because let's say, fingers crossed I am accepted, then I'd want to attend ASW and flights from NY to ATL only get more and more expensive everyday!!!

Re: Emory Class of 2017 (2013-2014 Cycle)
Congrats kobe1020!
Random Q (& not sure where to post this, so my apologies if this is the wrong thread), but I was wondering what scholarship offers from other threads would make Emory increase their scholly offer? Would significant amounts from similarly ranked schools (GW and WUSTL) be worth it, and would a practically free ride at U Ga be worth noting - or laughable? I'm assuming a percentage of U Ga grads compete with Emory grads for jobs in the ATL market, so I was wondering if that would make them competitive.
Also, can people negotiate post deposit deadline? It seems unlikely, since they know you'll be attending regardless... Thanks in advance.

Accepted and will probably attend, got pretty good money and likely applying for the Housing Director position since I'm Greek and its free room/board/parking and $7k/year which would make Emory basically free for me. Does anyone know someone who has been a housing director that I can ask some questions to about how it impacts things like social life and grades?
Also, attending ASW in April since I've never seen the campus before, but I have family in Atlanta so I know the area decently.

I'm currently Greek at Emory undergrad and I've met a few of the housing directors. I think it would really depend on what house you wind up being director for, some of them are a lot more active than others so your level of commitment will vary. You'll just have to do walk throughs every once in a while. The housing directors here seem to look the other way for the most part so I can't imagine it would take a whole lot of your time. The school has been a lot stricter more recently so should the house living in get into trouble, I'd imagine your commitment would rise. I can ask around and see if I can find an email for someone.acc123 wrote:Accepted and will probably attend, got pretty good money and likely applying for the Housing Director position since I'm Greek and its free room/board/parking and $7k/year which would make Emory basically free for me. That would be really cool, they have the email addresses of current house directors online but I wouldn't want to creep on them that hard...annacg wrote:I'm currently Greek at Emory undergrad and I've met a few of the housing directors.
