Re: George Washington C/O 2017
I got a fee waiver, but I am questioning whether I should even apply.
I heard the seat deposit is 1500...That is WAY out of my price range. I will have about 500-1000 for a deposit, but there is no way i will have 1500.

If anyone wants a free application let me know. That is just too high.

I'm in the same situation- 25th LSAT, 75th GPA. Still waiting to hear.terrapinjetta wrote:It depends on your numbers. I am trying to optimistic that since I did not get wait listed yesterday, I could be an admit.

How are your softs? Same situation. I thought I was going to be rejected but placed on the waitlist sub 25th LSAT 3.8 GPA. They are really big on softs which I was surprised about.gerrydawg wrote:I'm in the same situation- 25th LSAT, 75th GPA. Still waiting to hear.terrapinjetta wrote:It depends on your numbers. Sam numbers as you. My softs are above average I would say. I am a first generation college student as well. I got waitlisted at Fordham, but I'm hoping to be an admit at GW.

Above average softs. Thought it would be close but given where else I've gotten in this cycle I was hoping GW wouldn't put up too much of a fight. Hopefully we hear back soon.apartius wrote:How are your softs? Same situation. I thought I was going to be rejected but placed on the waitlist sub 25th LSAT 3.8 GPA. The way I read it, there will be no mention of scholarships until those steps are completed (FAFSA, Need Access, etc.). It reads to me like, "We are only making full financial package offers."ZGr88n wrote:Yeah, they got me good with that one.BmoreOrLess wrote:Ugh, financial aid email without any mention of scholarships. Nah, they say "to be considered for financial aid loans and need based grants". Nothing about merit based stuff. They're just trolling us this fine, cold morning.yossarian71 wrote:The way I read it, there will be no mention of scholarships until those steps are completed (FAFSA, Need Access, etc.). They just mean that the financial aid office does not award merit scholarships.ZipWhenSheMoves wrote:

I read it as the Office of Financial Aid isn't responsible for awarding the merit scholarships. I'm guessing those awards come more from admissions??? Maybe....?? any other guesses...???

Oh man, would serious Lulz ensue if they all of a sudden decided to no longer give scholarships. I almost hope that's the case just for entertainment value.

Also, you're avi is the only reason I can't check TLS in front of my class (if I happen to have them working well independently), and for that, I thank you. Sincerely though. I don't need to check TLS anymore than I do.

Right, I figured, that's why it was so weird. Explanations people have offered here make sense- it's a strange way for them to put it.

this. my reaction to the email. exactly.
did EVERYONE get an email including this line? even those with HIGH#'s ?
I received the same e-mail and actually ended up calling the financial aid office to ask about scholarships. They said they don't handle scholarships and they are processed through the admissions department. They transferred me to talk to someone but it went to voicemail. I'll try again tomorrow to maybe get some info and update! I would love to go to GW but some type of scholarship would def. help in the decision making process

If they didn't give out scholarships, their class would either be cut by like 75% or their median would tank to like 157. No need to worry here folks.
