In via status checker as well! Was totally not expecting such a quick turnaround since SMU was the 2nd to last school I got my app into, time-wise! So exciting! Congrats to everyone else admitted today, great way to start the week :D !

I have been "complete" since 12/3 with no movement at all. Should I email or call admissions to follow up? I am worried my app is stuck in some computer limbo file  :?:

Congrats Everyone! All of us with mediocre stats are still sitting at "application completed". No news is good news though :) better waiting than getting a rejection

Figured I'd try and negotiate my scholarship despite the many, many people who have said that it's a futile effort.

Welp, those people were most certainly correct.

Really? I haven't gotten my scholarship letter yet but I really hope that its on par with the other similarly ranked schools and better schools I've been accepted to. Anyone have any experience with a low-ball offer or something completely less than what they were expecting?

Nothing here. Mr. Ramirez did tell me they were reviewing everyone with updated LSATs. Hoping, hoping, hoping. I'm about to withdraw my other apps, but would really like to see a little more here before I pull the trigger. :?

SMU's generally fairly predictable. For me they came in at a lower COA than UH (until I turned UH down and they came back to me with another offer which was about $200 lower COA of SMU).

Bummer...SMU gave me a good offer, but a higher ranked school (30's) offered me a nearly full tuition offer. I'm going to give it a shot, but I won't hold my breath. I wish they would play ball since cost aside, SMU would be in my top 3-4 schools hands down.

Is that higher-ranked school where you want to practice? Don't let rankings fool you. If you want to work in Dallas, a school like W&M or BC won't take you very far at all, despite being higher ranked.

Yes, and the school is Wake Forest. I'd like working/living in either region, but I prefer Texas slightly more...just not $40-$50k in debt more. These two schools are peers as far as I'm concerned, so the one with more money wins out. That's why I'm disappointed that SMU apparently doesn't negotiate.

Anyone know if they offer travel stipends for ASW? I'm going to be in Dallas this month for a visit, but I definitely want to go back for ASW so I can meet all of you fine people :)

As for stipends, I don't recall as I was unable to attend mine. But if you're going to be in Dallas on a weekday, you can get a tour of the campus from a student and chat with them about things while you're there.
