I am not sure that they do merit-based, just need.

Haha, seriously there is about a 1% chance I stay in Chicago. If I do move, you should take my place. It's large for a 1br and the location would be perfect for public transit.

Although the debt is a lot to take on, I spoke with the Financial Aid Office and was told that (with few exceptions) most people receive an increase in grant/scholarship money each year of attendance.

Just something to consider.

For those coming to ASW, there will be a moot court exhibition round starting at 4:30pm featuring the top two oral advocate teams from the 2L moot court program squaring off in front of a panel of 5 Judges (1 Sup Ct. AK, 2 ED CA, 2 3DCA). It is open to the public and oral arguments should last for a little over an hour.

If we didn't get an email, is it safe to assume that we didn't get merit aid? I see a $14K grant on MyAwards, but I know that is from the financial aid office, not adcomm.

I'm assuming so. I received two separate grants - one for 14k and the other for 11k - which I'm guessing are both need based aid. The financial aid email stated that I would receive 25k in need based aid. I was hoping for some sort of merit aid in addition to the need aid, but it doesn't seem like that will happen. I wonder if they are open to negotiation?

Received a merit aid email today that was sitting in my spam folder. Received 5,000 for 1L or 15,000 total. That brings my total aid to 30k a year. Not bad, but that still leaves me with a pretty high COA.

Last Thursday. I received my need-based aid email before my actual acceptance haha. They sent this merit email today at 2:50 but I just saw it. Pleased that I received at least some merit aid, but Davis is still super expensive.

Last Thursday. I received my need-based aid email before my actual acceptance haha. They sent this merit email today at 2:50 but I just saw it. Pleased that I received at least some merit aid, but Davis is still super expensive.

I don't expect need based, but still would love to know if I got any money, I will just assume I didn't since deposits are due in two weeks and haven't heard a peep since my acceptance packet, anyhow, congrats on the money. Where does it rank with your current choices?

i got no merit-based either (got the admission text and finaid login email). obviously, gonna withdraw soon.

I would need probably $40k+/yr between merit and grants to attend. "Estimates" and small merit offer put me at $20k/yr.

There seems to be a general trend going on here. Hopefully Davis adcomms are listening and will amp up the dough for future generations.

I want to ask for money but I don't have leverage only thing is 30000K at Loyola which is actually less considering I have 35000K in need and merit based aid. Some of the numbers here are shocking - I want dat 90K lol.

Wow! Sorry to be stalkerish and all - I see we have the same LSAT but my GPA is higher. Did you not get need based aid? I wish I knew your secret lol.
