quick question ...so for the tuition equalization scholarship...this is separate from the merit scholarship? do they list both separately on the letter they send?

Is there any way to see if we got a scholarship online?

Not that I'm aware of... I got my scholarship info through the mail, and never received an email or status update about it.TEXAS91 wrote:Is there any way to see if we got a scholarship online?

Since I was just admitted last week, my acceptance letter came at the same time as my scholarship letter! 5K (I'm in state)! Thrilled with this as I'm under both medians and was happy just to get in. Over the moon
Edit: also, I'll be headed to the public interest conference on March 2. Hope to run into some TLSers perhaps!

I emailed them to withdraw the day they mailed the letter, but they offered me the equalizer and 10k. (173/3.6)
Hopefully that money will go to some of y'all. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Got my letter on Friday but couldn't get home to it until today. Equalizer + 5k a year. Not bad, not bad at all.

Re: University of Georgia c/o 2016 applicants (2012-13 cycle)
I was wondering what everyone thought about my chances of getting in! I've been waiting for a month now, and my numbers are 161 LSAT and 3.63 GPA, which I know are both below the median... But I put in my personal statement that I've worked two or three jobs at the same time ever since high school, so I'm hoping that will work in my favor. The waiting is just driving me crazy!!!

Well, I'm a little to the left of the green dots, but not in the red or yellow, so I guess that's a good thing

Look at previous years too. Right now there is a gap because no one has been waitlisted yet this year (to my knowledge).JJLau123 wrote:Well, I'm a little to the left of the green dots, but not in the red or yellow, so I guess that's a good thing

Re: University of Georgia c/o 2016 applicants (2012-13 cycle)
My heart broke a little bit when I received the mail today. I received the "making an impact" mailer today but still no scholarship information. I'm holding out hope that it's just taking a really long time getting to Ca. from Georgia or that they're sending in waves. In-state and even a small amount of money would make such a massive difference. Has anyone out here on the west coast heard yet?

I'm in the exact same boat! When I saw that little flyer they sent I got so excited, but then I realized it wasn't a scholarship. If I got the tuition equalizer I would most likely go to UGA.crossingfingers wrote:My heart broke a little bit when I received the mail today. I got the equalizer as well. Idk why most schools don't take Georgia's approach. I applied to Georgia mostly based on the name and the prospect of working in Atlanta. Now that they have cut down the costs it has become my #1 or #2 option. Other schools should follow suit, but apparently they are more criminal than UGA

Re: University of Georgia c/o 2016 applicants (2012-13 cycle)
The fact that UGA gave ED applicants $$ speaks volumes about the school-- they lost reliable out of state tuition by giving us equalizers simply because (I guess) they think we deserve it. I'm sure it will help make the ED program more popular in the futurenolongermissing wrote:I got the equalizer as well. Idk why most schools don't take Georgia's approach. Does anyone know if the scholarship packet gave a phone number or email to use to continue discussion on the availability of merit aid? My parents are at work now so they can't look it up for me. I emailed the address ugajd@uga.edu on monday bringing up negotiating for more money and have not heard back yet. I am wondering if I there is someone else whom I should email or call. When I posed a similar question to the University of Richmond I heard back both times in within a couple of hours.
