I got my acceptance letter at 2:30 EST today. Numbers are 169/3.8 from an ivy. 2.5 year work experience. Really surprised I got in, especially since I retook the LSAT this October and actually did worse (168...don't ask.) I keep thinking they're going to e-mail me and be like oops, that was a mistake!
Good luck to everyone else who's still waiting!

multiple from my school ( an ivy) got accepted with stats way wayyy below the medians, even below the 25th. also, a couple ppl got into nyu law with 3.3 and 165s. you just never know. sure, it's a numbers game mostly, but you just never know what theyre looking at. also, this year my advisor told me that all the t14 are reported to be possibly lowering the admissions numbers slightly due to a predicated slight decrease in applications. so who knows. either way, congrats to everybody so far!

Wow congrats to all the admits so far!
So what's the read on those of us ed'rs who haven't heard yet? Waiting for a ding? Since all of the Ed apps are in and they've presumably reviewed them all( since they've admitted a few that went complete after 11/15), what's are they waiting for? I guess i just don't get the releasing the decisions in waves idea... What's the differences between the Ed candidate admitted on 12/5 and the one on 12/15? And 12/30?

Checking in. submitted on 11/20 and went complete shortly after that.
So I thought I had a pretty good shot here, but looking at LSN, everyone admitted with my numbers last year came from an ivy or other top undergrad. I don't. Should I take this to mean anything for my chances?

You have awesome numbers, man, and I don't think any school rank'll hurt your chances in the slightest. Best of luck!BSC wrote:Checking in. submitted on 11/20 and went complete shortly after that.

I need a Dean's Cert as well and I'm still "Pending Completion." FMLKanyeShrug wrote:Finally went complete. C&F so they needed a Dean's Cert. Airin' out my hail mary.

My status checker makes no mention of the ED contract. Is this true for all other ED applicants?

A quick heads up based on what I know:lollipop555 wrote:My status checker makes no mention of the ED contract. Is this true for all other ED applicants?
Status checker says nothing about ED, and despite having received my acceptance via email, the status checker has not changed. It still just says my application's complete, if I remember, definitely nothing about "Decision letter sent."
You are still ED.
I got worried since I didn't send in my third letter of rec until after the ED deadline, and in my app had indicated to not let my app go complete until all the LOR's were in. I called Admissions, who told me not to sweat it, and that if I was relegated to RD I would receive an email from them letting me know of the switch.
Hope that helps!

I was admitted ED--email at 08:41 eastern time. This site has been a valuable resource to me over the years, so I figured the least I could do is stop lurking and share my info.
Numbers: LSDAS GPA 3.98, LSAT 171/167 (I retook and did worse). Complete email received 10/19. Undergrad: not ivy, but top public. Softs were ok, maybe a bit above average. Not URM or legacy. Not a Rhodes scholar, Navy SEAL, cancer curer, or anything like that.

Based on all the ED acceptances mentioned here at TLS and LSN so far, the mean GPA is 3.78 and mean LSAT is 171.
Since last year's class mean was 3.71 and 172, there seems to be about a 1 LSAT point boost for applying ED.

Yeah but what about the GPA anti-boost????CaliforniaBear wrote:Based on all the ED acceptances mentioned here at TLS and LSN so far, the mean GPA is 3.78 and mean LSAT is 171.

Seriously though, I think the sample size is way too small to read anything into this.

I almost spit up my coffee this morning when I received an email from CLS admissions... But it was acknowledgment of an update to my ED application that I had emailed them on Tuesday.

@BSC: I don't think so. I've looked at some top law schools, and it seems they take people from everywhere (i.e., a variety of undergraduate institutions). I wouldn't stress about which undergrad you came from.

Thanks! Yeah I did ED, figured CLS is definitely a reach with my 169/3.8. I was actually really struggling over whether to apply early, because the media LSAT for kids from my undergrad who were accepted and enrolled at Columbia is a 170 (I went to an Ivy, so maybe it does make a difference? idk).

To all the ED ppl: do we need to e-mail the Columbia admissions office to let them know that we've withdrawn from all other schools? Or is this just something that they'll find out on their own?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
