We have Chicago pizza just before bowling. We'll have to drink extra to account for the alcohol absorption. challengeaccepted.jpg

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone, but I may pretend that I have never heard of TLS. Is that shady?

Now we know that whoever says they’ve never heard of TLS is you.potl wrote:Sounds good.AmandaPB wrote:I wrote that while I was drunk, and I will also be seeking out the heavy drinkers. I requested to stay with a current student, but I'm thinking about calling tomorrow and telling them I'll get a hotel instead. (probably the Hilton since it seems reasonable with their corporate rate) I don't really want to be an inconvenience to someone especially if they've got classes and whatnot and I decide I want to stay up til 3am or something.

Yeah I requested to stay with a student, but decided yesterday to go with the hotel instead...just seemed easier logistically. Excited to meet everyone!

Staying at a hotel might be easier, but staying with a student costs nothing. So yeah, I'm staying with a student.
Looking forward to the program. Looks like the code phrases are "I drink a lot" and "I've never heard of TLS".

Yeah, my feeling is that since they probably volunteered to host they know what to expect and it will not be a big deal.

Welp, I made no effort in making my username cryptic so you will all know who I am. I wish I was staying in a hotel so I could be a complete fool without having to inconvenience someone but I don't want to pay a lot.ScratchableItch wrote:Staying at a hotel might be easier, but staying with a student costs nothing. I called about an extension and the results were less than encouraging. The answer was basically "no, but you can send us an emailoperagrl71 wrote:+1teacher10456 wrote:Has anyone successfully applied for an extension and received one? The April 15 deadline is fast approaching and I am still waiting on hearing scholarship offers from other schools.
Would love to know the answer to this as well...
I sent the email, so I'll keep you all updated. Maybe a miracle will happen.

Sent an email last week, got a response today. In short: No, because it's not fair for those waiting for scholarships or on the waitlist.acappella wrote:I called about an extension and the results were less than encouraging. So I'm reading over the deposit information now...and it says you have to withdraw from any school that you have not heard from by April 15th. Just in case, do we know if Harvard and Stanford make WL notifications before April 15th?

In the past, I think WL notifications at those schools came just a little bit later in the month.Doorkeeper wrote:So I'm reading over the deposit information now...and it says you have to withdraw from any school that you have not heard from by April 15th. For those in the Waiting on Stanford/Harvard/Other Schools boat, what do you think you'll do?curiouscat wrote:In the past, I think WL notifications at those schools came just a little bit later in the month.Doorkeeper wrote:So I'm reading over the deposit information now...and it says you have to withdraw from any school that you have not heard from by April 15th. Re: In at Chicago: Class of 2015
I have no idea what to do here. I looked through LSN and I saw a few people who deposited at Chicago but were on Harvard and/or Stanford WLs...so maybe there's a gentleman's agreement of sorts? I actually have no idea. I'm just guessing.tamereth wrote:For those in the Waiting on Stanford/Harvard/Other Schools boat, what do you think you'll do?curiouscat wrote:In the past, I think WL notifications at those schools came just a little bit later in the month.Doorkeeper wrote:So I'm reading over the deposit information now...and it says you have to withdraw from any school that you have not heard from by April 15th. Re: In at Chicago: Class of 2015
There's no problem if you're on a WL at S or H--Chicago says you can stay on waitlists. The problem is if you haven't received any decision yet, because Chi. asks that you withdraw applications at schools that have not yet given you a decision.Doorkeeper wrote:I have no idea what to do here.
