I requested to stay with a current student, but I'm thinking about calling tomorrow and telling them I'll get a hotel instead. (probably the Hilton since it seems reasonable with their corporate rate) I don't really want to be an inconvenience to someone especially if they've got classes and whatnot and I decide I want to stay up til 3am or something.

Yeah I requested to stay with a student, but decided yesterday to go with the hotel instead...just seemed easier logistically. Excited to meet everyone!

Yeah, my feeling is that since they probably volunteered to host they know what to expect and it will not be a big deal.

Welp, I made no effort in making my username cryptic so you will all know who I am. I wish I was staying in a hotel so I could be a complete fool without having to inconvenience someone but I don't want to pay a lot.

Has anyone successfully applied for an extension and received one? The April 15 deadline is fast approaching and I am still waiting on hearing scholarship offers from other schools.

I called about an extension and the results were less than encouraging. The answer was basically "no, but you can send us an email so we can tell you no again in writing."

I sent the email, so I'll keep you all updated. Maybe a miracle will happen.

So I'm reading over the deposit information now...and it says you have to withdraw from any school that you have not heard from by April 15th. Just in case, do we know if Harvard and Stanford make WL notifications before April 15th?

There's no problem if you're on a WL at S or H--Chicago says you can stay on waitlists. The problem is if you haven't received any decision yet, because Chi. asks that you withdraw applications at schools that have not yet given you a decision.
