Ha, I'm in the midst of looking for more places where I'm going to want to hang out--and even better, there's a Mexican place a few blocks away from Washington Square with a free buffet during Happy Hour.

It's called Crocodile Lounge. The pizza isn't anything awesome but it's better than Domino's (just make sure to tip the pizza dudes a buck). Also they have a really challenging trivia night (and Cash Cab recruits there!)

I think it is limited to specific groups, like women, URMs or PI peeps. If you don't fall in one of those three categories, then that is probably why you haven't received any e-mails. If you do, then they probably just don't like you very much

I did not get invited to the women in law one, likely due to my not being a woman, but did get an invite yesterday to a public interest event. I am local, and the email alluded to my stated desire to work in public interest, so those may have been factors.

Got it too. I'm conflicted because I'm trying to save for NYC in the summer and already will be visiting it a minimum of 2 times this semester anyways (ASW and my best friend and I are apt hunting). Where are you coming from? Checking train prices now.
