Re: UIUC 2015
If you were held, and this is your top choice, would you recommend sending a LOCI now, or waiting until I'm possibly wait-listed?
And just to make this go quicker, if you do recommend sending an LOCI, do you recommend just sending it to Miss Jenny?

Not worth your time, they are going to know you are interested if you didn't take your name off the list

Re: UIUC 2015
I just put in my RSVP for the March 30th Open House. Feel free to PM if you are attending as well. It would be great to know a group heading, so as to be able to grab drinks and fraternize with possible future classmates.

I'm not exactly close to Chambana, but the more I think about it, the more likely I am to visit campus on the 30th as well. UIUC is growing on me.

I registered, but It's the week before I'm flying up to L&C so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get time off work for both.tooswolle wrote:Anyone doing the Los Angeles open house? I want to go but would like to see if anyone is going.

For sure I'm still debating going. From the looks of it, the open house should be spiffy. I'm kind of interested in seeing what a big law firm looks like though! They look like any big corporation. Just replace associates with middle management and partners with executives. Associates get a small, plain office, partners get a bigger nicer office. Lots of conference rooms, cubes for the non-lawyer office people (other than actual managers who may not be lawyers). Plus a cafeteria, maybe a gym, law library, etc.tooswolle wrote:For sure I'm still debating going. From the looks of it, the open house should be spiffy. In via email today! Wasn't sure I'd even get in so the small scholarship offer was even better news. Going to try to schedule a visit when I'm in Chicago for work next month.

Yeah, I've worked in two and delivered stuff to/interviewed in many more. They're nothing too special. I mostly go to admitted student events for the snacks, in all honesty. I'm all about the snacks.Opie wrote:They look like any big corporation. Just replace associates with middle management and partners with executives. Accepted 02/03/12. Congrats to everyone else who got in this cycle. I might be attending the open house on March 30th.

IN! Excited about the acceptance! Buuut...5k a year. I like that they offered me something, but I hope to be able to talk them up to the 25% thats been going around, I am above one of the medians after all.
Hopefully I can negotiate a bit.

Congrats! Are you in-state? 5k seems low if you're out of state.mattviphky wrote:IN! Excited about the acceptance! Buuut...5k a year.
