Re: Case Western 2015
Didn't end up withdrawing my app, but sent an email letting them know I'm waiting to hear back and if they would know when I could receive a decision. Admitted via phone call, as for the rejection via phone that is scary and sucks man!!!!

Has only one person posted about receiving scholarship info? Where is the love for the rest of us? :/

Re: Case Western 2015
Looking at Lawschoolnumbers, it seems like the top non-full scholly is going to be 102k guaranteed. I see a 99 and a 20, which I assume is 60. How are those stacking up to other schools? I would guess, for people with 102, not that well other than the fact it's guaranteed. Guaranteed is nice, speaking as someone who came within a hair's breadth of 'losing' the scholarship before it abruptly became guaranteed, but I'm not sure how much of a difference it would have made to pre-law-school me.
I think the key comparisons for people applying to CWRU are OSU, W&M, W&L, etc. Case has to make school cheaper for people who would otherwise attend schools ranked around there, and also compete with its regional peers, Cincinnati and Pitt.
Rejection by phone call - strange, why bother calling? Did you blow off the interview request or something? That, traditionally, was a reason for 'yield protect' rejects.

I have been under Stage 2-2 Committee review since 12/17... my alum. interview was a little over 3 weeks ago, how much longer should this wait be?

I didn't post this but I received 30 k a year scholly via e-mail on 2-29, but I also was somehow accepted 5 days before anyone else on TLS or LSN (I guess for some odd reason my app is being processed quickly)... so I wouldn't worry I'm sure they'll be sending others out soonMOJayhawk wrote:Has only one person posted about receiving scholarship info? Cool. Glad they haven't gotten stingy since they started guaranteeing them.ThreeRivers wrote:I didn't post this but I received 30 k a year scholly via e-mail on 2-29, but I also was somehow accepted 5 days before anyone else on TLS or LSN (I guess for some odd reason my app is being processed quickly)... so I wouldn't worry I'm sure they'll be sending others out soonMOJayhawk wrote:Has only one person posted about receiving scholarship info? Re: Case Western 2015
20000/year!!! My LSAT is only 161 with gpa 3.46, so I think it's pretty generous! Do you guys think I can negotiate for more? Also im getting a job offer. Will they keep the scholarship for me if I defer one year? I don't really wanna go to law school directly from college.

Re: Case Western 2015
Congrats to all of you who got in! I want to make a quick plug for an event going on during admitted student weekend (March 30th). It's called the SPIF Bid for Justice Gala, and it's basic aim is to raise money for all the students working in public interest over the summer. It's probably the biggest law school social event of the year - most students and even teachers go. It's also incredibly fun - you dress up, bid on awesome stuff (concert tickets, restaurant gift certificates, ect) and drink a ton (there is an almost unlimited supply of wine/beer). It'll be a great way for you guys to meet current students and professors and to see what life at Case is like.
I'm not sure what the ticket prices will be for you guys (we're still working on that), but, even if you paid the full student rate, you'd still get a ton of alcohol for the money. So, if you guys will be in town that weekend, there is no excuse not to come. And feel free to ask me if you have any questions about it.

Re: Case Western 2015
They seem to be sending scholarship letters in waves and since Case has already established that they don't follow a timeline or pattern that is used by any other rational school, I wouldn't fret just yet. I think it has been said that Case will let everyone know of their scholarship offers by the end of March, so I wouldn't be too concerned yet.

Yeah i'm just a tad antsy. I pretty much am down to two other schools and Case (depending on the price) so just a bit antsy to see where i'll be headed to in the fall.genius5432 wrote:They seem to be sending scholarship letters in waves and since Case has already established that they don't follow a timeline or pattern that is used by any other rational school, I wouldn't fret just yet. On a different note, whose going to the admitted student days? It's nice of them to offer the $200 travel stipend.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
