1. She doesn't start until January
2. Not really big on using family friends for connections. She knows I am applying, so if she wants to talk me up to her colleagues I won’t stop her, but I would never ask her to.
Keeping my fingers crossed like everybody else!

+180.....all I'm asking for is some wonderful holiday news! Do you really think the date change is an indication or just a change in general?msblaw89 wrote:I don't know anyone who enjoys the wait ....I just don't understand what takes sooooo longdaswissalps wrote:This wait is killin me...jus sayin

I think it means a decision soon.... I personally have been complete since 11/01 before the date change. So, if a decision isn't coming soon that would be ridiculous!... and crueltooswolle wrote:+180.....all I'm asking for is some wonderful holiday news! i admire your principles. but i wouldn't blame you if you took advantage of the situation, you gotta do what you gotta do. Although you probably are on the right track by just making her aware of your position rather than just asking for help.

I noticed a 1st deposit and 2nd deposit area on my status checker - not sure that was there before. Does that mean anything? My status updated a couple days ago?

I just want you all to start getting decisions so I can see your splits and know what chances I am looking at for this cycle.
I want you all to be accepted for purely selfish reasons

Has anyone that's been accepted received anything in the mail- or have your status checkers changed to reflect your acceptance? I haven't received anything since my email last week and my status checker doesn't even notate that they sent the email.

Current 1L here. If you have any questions about the law school/application tips, feel free to send me a message.
Typically, the most qualified candidates (by GPA/LSAT vs. Median) will hear first. That said, if you fall anywhere in the range, and WUSTL is your first choice, make sure to visit the school asap and stay in touch with the admissions department. An email every 2-3 weeks followed by a phone call once a month will let them know that you are interested. Law schools like to know that they are your first choice because this, to some extent, removes a layer of guesswork for them in determining who will accept their offers. Besides, if your scores are not above the mean, you will likely be paying full tuition and law schools love money (unless URM or other compelling argument).
Law school is a blast, but make sure you are going for the right reason: that you want to be a lawyer. It will consume every waking moment of your life and you will have little or no time to do anything but study, even and especially on the weekends. It's finals time and I haven't had a drink since Thanksgiving...very few of us have. Things will change your second/third year (I hear), but 1L year is no joke.
Remember, you will not be special for getting in to WUSTL once here. Everyone here got in. They are, for the most part, very smart and hard working and they will be your competition. We all did very well in undergrad, but this is a totally different beast.
Good luck!
