In my mind, your profile pic is your reaction to the Stanford call... "I'm so overwhelmed and thrilled right now, all I want to do is PET THIS CAT!"AmandaPB wrote:Sorry guys, I am FREAKING OUT!
I submitted 9/15. I live in the Midwest, and last name starts with a P (Hahahha).
I got a call from Dean Deal saying all information with be coming in the mail!

Tom Joad, this bodes well for you! As your two numbers twins, Amanda is in at Stanford, I'm in at Harvard, so clearly you're in at Yale!

Seriously, some people. No considerationKimberly wrote:Amanda, seriously, are you on the phone with your family telling them? If so, that is soooo inconsiderate! Would you please mind sharing the details with us BEFORE calling important people in your life?

Although I have to say, sometimes I think the people on TLS appreciate the significance more than "normals." I told my Dad I got into Harvard and he said, "Well that's good. Did you see X Factor last night?" I don't even watch X Factor.

Looks like she may be going by order of completion.

Call ONE person before lunch.
Watch as chaos ensues.
Take the rest of the day off.
Laugh.

Wouldn't put it past her, judging from her last blog post... "should I go West to East? Should I throw them up in the air and catch one?" Someone's having a little too much fun

Congratulations Amanda on being the first TLS Stanford admit!
Is there anything that another school would offer that you would take over Stanford (full ride to Columbia, Chicago, NYU etc.)

Haha! I totally understand. I hope she’s off calling non-TLSers right now and didn’t just stop! I’m sure there’s more on the way; it’s only 1:15 there!annyong wrote:CONGRATS!!! Now go celebrate and enjoy it!AmandaPB wrote:INNNNNNNN!

Re: Stanford c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Jeez, I don’t know, I haven’t really thought about it too much. I try not to think about schools too in-depth until I get in, so I’m just starting to explore what Stanford has to offer outside of the research I did before applying. I think it all comes down to what kind of job I want, where I want to work, and which schools offer me the best chance of doing that. I need to crunch some numbers big time. Also, I think admitted students weekends will be important.Genki wrote:AWESOME!AmandaPB wrote:INNNNNNNN!

Hahaha - didn't her blog post say you could call her back after being admitted if you had something to say. You could always call her back and let her know she needs to let someone else on TLS in today cuz she's hurting your cred on the TLS streets.AmandaPB wrote:Thanks! I’m hoping we ALL get in! Maybe she already knows who we all are and just let one of us in on purpose. Then, pop some popcorn - enjoy the rest of the afternoon as everyone freaks out online...
