So based on what I'm seeing, applying ED as a 172/3.83 URM might not have been a bright idea.... Oh well, it's worth it just to know before Christmas.

Probably not your finest decision, BUT, on the bright side, it sounds like you will be in and there are much MUCH worse places to be committed to... I hope you (and I) get great news today!Aggie2012 wrote:So based on what I'm seeing, applying ED as a 172/3.83 URM might not have been a bright idea.... I'm wishing for good news as well. A rejection would mean a retake, which might work out better for me in the long run, but I'd like to get this over with AQAP.
Good luck, everyone!

Based on your GPA in your profile I bet you'll be fine!Mentlegen wrote:I'm wishing for good news as well. A rejection would mean a retake, which might work out better for me in the long run, but I'd like to get this over with AQAP.

last year's thread had the ED e-mails coming in around 2:00 Pacific time (I think its Pacific, someone check me on that). Yeah, I want Columbia that badly and yeah, I'm that neurotic.

The year before that was around 2pm eastern time, so I'm not sure if we'll be able to guess when they are released.TheRedMamba wrote:last year's thread had the ED e-mails coming in around 2:00 Pacific time (I think its Pacific, someone check me on that). My bad on being so vague. To expand, I got a chance to speak with a Columbia admissions officer that visited my school and it seemed as if they were getting a late start on reading applications this cycle.Themaddh wrote:That was helpful.ralph_pootawn wrote:For some reason I have a feeling we will not be hearing anything this week. no particular reason for this though.

Just got the complete e-mail! RD though, obviously.
Good luck to all of you anxious ED applicants! I hope you all hear good news soon (with some good news left to be shared for us RD applicants as well

Every time this thread updates, my heart jumps into my throat. Columbia is really the only school I'm individually invested in, so while I'm otherwise pretty mellow about my apps, Columbia turns me into a high school senior again.

This thread is literally all comments like this. And I think we all do it just to bring the thread to the top of the board so that we all don't lose hope.Aggie2012 wrote:Here's hoping for hearing back tomorrow....
